CR was found to be in violation of Section K9 of the Trifecta rules (click here for details). After a meeting in the big black, tan and white hauler, CR was fined 15 doggy treats and placed on scooper duty for this weekend's races.
Now that the unpleasantness :o) is out of the way, let's get on to the races:
1.) The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Martinsville, Saturday October 23; green flag drops at 1:16pm ET (entry list)
2.) The NASCAR Nationwide Series race from St. Louis, Saturday October 23; green flag drops at 3:45pm ET (entry list)
3.) The F1 South Korean Grand Prix, Sunday October 24; green flag drops at 2:00am ET (entry list)
4. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Martinsville, Sunday October 24; green flag drops at 1:13pm ET (entry list)
Good luck, and don't eat too may hot dogs.
I brought 20 doggie treats with me. But couldn't smooth talk my way out of pooper detail! Athens..... watch yer mirrors!
ReplyDeleteTrucks--- Kyle
F1--- Alonso
Cup--- Jeff Gordon ....shocks everyone when he dumps the 48 on the last lap!
I may change my F1 pick after they actualy drive on the new track! The drivers seem to approve, but the concern is mostly on a slick, changing track, and an odd pit road entry.
ReplyDeleteHey SB! Make sure CR does a good job with the scooper after you do a good job!
ReplyDeleteAll righty then...
CWTS - Kyle
F1 - Webber
Cup - Kyle
So there!
CWTS.....KYLE!
ReplyDeleteNNS.....C Edwards
F-1....Vettel
CR didn't try to blame the tow truck did he, SB?
ReplyDeleteTrucks - Kevin Harvick
NW - Justin Allgaier
F1 - K's eyebrow man....Fred Alonso
and the bonus pick which doesn't count for anything other than me yelling at my computer monitor if I can find a live feed of the race...V8SC - Jamie Whincup/Steve Owen combo on the Gold coast
hmmmm...who to jinx, who to jinx??
ReplyDeleteTrucks - Harvick
NW - Bad Brad K
Cup - Denny da Hamster
Although I think CR's penalty was just a slap on the wrist, I will accept it and know better next time. CR...:P
ReplyDeleteTRUCK - Austin Dillon
NW - Brad K.
CUP - Jamie Mac.
Trucks--Kevin Harvick
ReplyDeleteCup--JJ
F1--Lewis Hamilton
Athens, it was more like a chewing of my wrist. Thank God I'm a dog lover!
ReplyDeletejon, why in the world, would you a pick a looser like JJ? lol
if you're on scooper duty, how come you got to pick first this week, CR? :P
ReplyDeletetez, I'm fast! Do I get a trophy for all the poles I've earned this year? :)
ReplyDeleteThe Beagle picks:
ReplyDeleteCWTS- Kyle (I don't think anyone will let me get away with picking Kylevin- that way I'd cover both Kevin and Kyle)
NS- Brad K (Karma bites Carl for dumping Brad for the win in the July race)
Cup- Tony
I might be changing my F1 pick depending pon how quals go in a couple hours time....Bobby Koo and the Maccas looked mighty impressive in P3.
ReplyDeleteafter one race:
ReplyDeletecr 2
dwindy 2
hanny 2
sb 2
tez 15
klv 15
jon 15
athens 16
#$%^& Harvick! Jon, tell your guy to quit whining about the other drivers and focus on driving his own dang car/truck!
ReplyDeletedid y'all think that was a suspicious late caution flag after it was one lap old going against Kyle? just asking.....
ReplyDeleteDang you Kevin!! I am trying to win a championship here!!
ReplyDeleteNow, now Kristen- you did say you were hoping to jinx him :o)
ReplyDeleteOur favorite Foxsports.com NASCAR reporter- NOT!- is saying that Earnhardt Ganassi is considering a switch to Ford for 2011. That will kill the EGR/RCR engine program. I'd hate to be Teresa if they do make the switch. Forget what the Earnhardt faithful will do/say, Dale Sr will return from the grave.
Right on about the jinx machine, SB...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Teresa needs to just go ahead and split off from Ganassi, bite the bullet and sell out to Junior. Then Jr. could back out of the Hendrick deal and right the Earnhardt ship...
It'll never happen but it would really be something and a definite boost to NASCAR.
....and then what would happen to Jamie?:(
ReplyDelete...and Juan?
ReplyDeleteHey, you're too close! Back away! ...and Juan? Juan's not winning. CR, don't confuse me again or else.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't worry too much about Jamie. After all, he drove Fords at Roush.
ReplyDeleteDon't know about Juan.
Also hearing that Penske may go to VW. You hearing anything about that, klv?
well, my cap arrived from Salzburg so I shall therefore change my F1 pick to Mark Webber please :)
ReplyDeletemight dump the Truck race....will think about it overnight, lol
Juan won (hee hee) at Watkins Glen, Bev.
ooooo, raining in Korea, could be in for a better race than what qualifying suggested! :D
ReplyDeleteCR & Tez, LOL! I was working today and missed the Truck race. But if the race is a harbinger of things to come, it's going to be a LONG and not too Happy day for Harvick.

ReplyDeleteOh sheet! Alonso's car was worked on over night for a water leak, or something. They're still working on it. Green flag is not that far off. I'm making an executive decision...
ReplyDelete***DRIVER CHANGE***
Mark Webber for Alonso. Sorry tez, he was my go to guy "if.
:(
Start has been delayed until ten past...and they'll go behind the safety car.
ReplyDeleteStart delayed 10 minutes. Rain, rain, rain. Rolling green flag start. Not very "tradional" for F1. 1st Grand Prix of South Korea. Seems like Korea either brings M.A.S.H., or Team America to my mind. I still think Alonso could win this, but who knows what nut was left loose, or who left a midnight snack in the gear box? lol
ReplyDeleteOh, hi tez! Care for a race chat? Of course, that might be breaking one of the K9 rules! LOL
ReplyDeleteMassa team radio... another 20 minutes?
ReplyDeleteRed Flag... oh hum...
ReplyDeleteI think I might get a nice hot chocolate....want one, CR?
ReplyDeletehey, by lap 4, the Cup commentators would have already said how the points would be if the race stopped now so that's one good thing I guess, lol
ReplyDeleteLOL! You're a funny one tonight! Got any marshmellows for that hot chocolate?
ReplyDeletenope, you'll have to get your own, lol
ReplyDeleteI nearly switched again to Button but then they started so it didn't matter anyway.
Now the cars are getting cold. This is a sad start for Korea. I wondered about having a race there this late in the year.
ReplyDeletenot mattered since it wouldn't have counted, I mean.
ReplyDeletewell that monitor reckons the rain will stop in 20 minutes....how much do we trust technology regarding weather conditions?
ReplyDeleteAs it's turned out, I should have just stuck to Alonso, and you too!
ReplyDeleteAt least it's not snowing!
ReplyDeleteI think the track has an interesting configuration. I was looking forward to a really good race.
ReplyDeleteis there half points for the trifecta?
ReplyDeleteWe're in trouble if this race is canceled. Open wheeler's demise!
ReplyDeletetez, thought about going to the Austin Grand prix in 2012?
ReplyDeleteIt's not raining much now. Let's get the show on the road!
ReplyDeletehaven't thought about it, no. And I think the issue is the fact that the water is ponding and not draining away, not the actual rain itself.
ReplyDelete10-4
ReplyDeletelooks like they'll be racing. Most likly for 1/2 points.
wow, the guy in the medical car is hauling some serious butt!
ReplyDeleteYep! LOL
ReplyDeleteand they're nearly ready.....Korean GP, take 2.
ReplyDeleteI just caught Jon over on FB. Told him to stop playing games and join us watching the rain in Korea!
ReplyDeleteRow 2 back does'nt count!
ReplyDeleteHe might still be celebrating San Frans win earlier on, lol
ReplyDeletemaybe I should have picked the safety car....
ReplyDeleteLooks like Silverstone weather. But you're right, the water table is close to the surface.
ReplyDeletetrack was built on a swamp I think I heard.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice if they had some track blowers.
ReplyDeletegotta love Lewis saying it's nearly time for the inters while other guys are saying the conditions are terrible, lol
ReplyDeletesafety car in this lap, woohoo!
ReplyDeleteYea, Hamilton is hot-to-trot! lol
ReplyDeletewell dang....yep, we should have stuck with Fred, CR.
ReplyDeleteGOOD GRIEF!!! I should have stuck wit Alonso!
ReplyDeleteLOL We stayed up for this?
ReplyDeleteNow Hanny is all set to make some points with Seb! grrrrrrrr!!!
ReplyDeletewe're F1 fans, we'll stay up for anything, lol
ReplyDeleteYep!
ReplyDeleteFor Mark's sake, I hope it's a 1/2 point finish. I've been pulling for him all year.
ReplyDeletewe'll find out soon enough I guess....lap 42 is the magical 75% number when full points get awarded.
ReplyDeleteTire strategy, or as Pres. Bush would say, strateeegery! lol
ReplyDeletePetrov is going good on those inters!
ReplyDeleteLewis get's a spot on slow pit for Fred.
ReplyDeleteis it bad that I want the top 2 to crash out?
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout the top 3? Massa would be a winner.
ReplyDeleteFull points. Webber is screwed!
ReplyDeleteyeah, pretty much.
ReplyDelete1 down....
ReplyDeleteHoly Sh''''! Well, we really screwed up dropping Alonzo!
ReplyDeleteDo you think Alonzo can finish the season on this engine?
ReplyDeletejust a bit, lol
ReplyDeleteit'd be asking a fair bit given Brazil is pretty tough on engines.
ReplyDeleteWhy am I using a "z" in fernando's sir name?
ReplyDeleteAmerican spelling? :P
ReplyDeleteOr, late night zzzzz's? lol
ReplyDeleteWell, that was.... wet. ...and one should never change horses in mid stream!
ReplyDeletewell, it was worth the slow start....but at 2am, I am going to bed now, lol
ReplyDeletefunky to have someone on to chat about F1 though and have a good Sunday, CR :)

VW is a rumor but they have a pretty sweet racing car...I am pretty out of it at Penske - some personnel changes coming down the pike that will affect my creds possibly in the future... =(
ReplyDeleteMight be around to chat later! Happy race day!
Hey SB!
ReplyDeleteSorry to say it... (quivering lip)... But my F1 driver was Webber and he finished 26th so my total after 2 should be 28... :(
well, since it doesn't matter given the circumstances, I'll dump the F1 in favour of the Hamster at Martinsville please, SB.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorrier than Dwindy... I changed from Alonso to Webber before the race started. The announcers spooked me into it, saying Alonso's car was being repaired for a leak, just minutes before the grid... :(
ReplyDeleteWebber finished 23rd. Only 24 cars in the race, not that it matters...
ReplyDeleteOk- F1.com had qualifying order posted as race results. Found another source, so here are corrected standings after 2:
ReplyDeletesb 3

No Trifecta next week- not a full schedule. See you in two weeks at Texas where Hanny will have first of three shots at repeating the Kylefecta.
Woo Hoo for KLV!!!
ReplyDeleteGood job, Kristen! How 'bout that Junyer!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kristen!
ReplyDeleteKristen... Don't touch the gear shift... Keep it in high with the pedal to the metal! Blast those open wheelers off the track! You can do it!!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. WTG!
Kristen-
ReplyDeleteWill you still be going yo Phoenix in 3 weeks? Katie may have a little World Series bet for you.
Thanks guys! The day got away from me and I *just* finished watchng the race on DVR - 9pm!
ReplyDeleteWoot!!!
How 'bout that Kurt payback - wrong HMS guy but its a start...
SB - I unfortunately have a conference in SF the weekend of PHX so my next race is Daytona 500....While I am not a Giants fan I can still commit to a friendly wager!
