NASCAR Question of the Moment

So, I've been reading comments on various NASCAR sites, and curiosity got the better of me. Still, it is an interesting premise. Your question for today is:

If your favorite driver signed with a team that you absolutely despised(Hendrick, Roush, etc.), would you still follow that driver?

  2. provided it was, at the very least, a step sideways from their current team, then yeah.

on a sidenote, I figured out the numbers/driver thing too (think I told Kristen this at Sonoma?); I'm used to sports where the number actually means position (Rugby, Soccer, F1, etc), not where you can pick and choose, lol....mind you, I still think the #1 should be solely reserved for the defending champ like it is in the V8's :P

  3. I have to say yes as a relative newcomer. I haven't developed that kind of intense dislike for any one team.

I do like the thought of HMS as the evil empire though!

  4. KATIE,

YEP WILL FOLLOW JR. TONY AND CARL EVEN IF THEY GO DRIVE FOR CHIP CHIP THE INDY RACE PIMP.

DON'T REALLY CARE FOR HMS BUT JR. AND MARK ARE MY GUYS. AND TONY AND CARL SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.

  5. hmm, I should probably reword my first sentence...I mean that if your fav guy ends up driving for a S&P kinda team, it'd be rather depressing I reckon :(

I'd keep following them, but it wouldn't be the same, you know?

  6. LOL, Dwindy! Intense dislike? Give it time, give it time!

I have always had an intense dislike for Theresa Earnhardt but Jamie McMurray has always been a favorite of mine, so my answer is "yes, I would still follow him."

  7. Yes, I wouldn't mind Kyle going to Roush... and showing those guys how to win some races!

  8. Gene-

As I understand it, that ship has already sailed. Kyle was racing in the Truck Series for Roush at age 17. When NASCAR raised the age limit to 18, that contract was voided. Roush expected Kyle to resign on his 18th birthday, but Kyle opted to go with Hendirck.

  9. I'd follow Harvick in the event he had gone to Roush or Penske. But thank goodness he's staying at RCR!

  10. SB... yeah, I know Kyle raced a handful of races for Roush, and with Kurt there, Jackie thought Kyle would hang around. Any young driver with an offer from RFR should check out their past history of screwing over young drivers. Drivers like Stanton Barrett and Danny O'Quinn came to Roush, bringing a sponsor, then got canned months later. With Jack keeping their sponsor, of course.

  11. My driver already went to the dark side and now they are sabotaging him! But I still love him!! And in the end its cheaper - yea so you had to buy a bunch of AMP gear to start with but none of those pesky race win diecast!

I have a soft spot for Kurt and would always wish him well but really I follow his crew. anywhere!
