In addition to our usual slate of races, we also have a special side race to keep an eye on. Our own Gunny has enlisted his own "voodoo duck" in an effort to protect Cousin Carl from the effects of Katie's Aflac Voodoo Duck (read all about it here). Katie is more than ready to meet this challenge and is confident that her duck will reign supreme.
Now on to the races:
1.) The NASCAR Nationwide race from Darlington, Friday May 7; green flag drops at 7:45pm ET. (entry list)
2.) The NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Darlington, Saturday May 8; green flag drops at 7:45pm ET. (entry list)
3.) The F1 Spanish Grand Prix from Barcelona, Sunday May 9; green flag drops at 8:00am ET. (entry list- near the bottom of the page)
Good luck, and let's go racing.
I'm back - but gotta run so here are my quick picks!

kristen- missed you last week. You're all logged in.
ReplyDeletejon- hanny did that last year on our Superfecta(picked Kyle in all 5 races). I do wonder about Hamilton, though, seeing how another man is putting the moves on his girl :o).
(For the uninformed, Hamilton's girlfriend is Dancing With the Stars contestant Nicole Scherzinger.)
Hanny- noted!
given that it's sort of working...
ReplyDeleteNW - Justin 'JJ' Algaier
Cup - I'll take the gamble...Jimmie Johnson
F1 - Sebastian 'Jimmie' Vettel
...and I thought Lewis had a Pussycat Doll, what happened to her, SB?
ReplyDeleteTez- it's the same girl. Nicole is the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls.

ReplyDeleteThanks Tez. I'll take Denny then.
ReplyDeleteCR and moseby, you're all logged in.
Gunny- good to hear on the hats and booties. Looks like Phideaux is going to have to work a little harder. Carl qualified 41st for tomorrow night's race- a full 6mph SLOWER than pole sitter Jamie McMurray. Paul Menard was faster than Carl; Dave Blaney was faster than Carl; even Todd "2 laps and I'm done" Bodine was faster than Carl :o).

Yep Athens, you made it.

SB... Great pick on Joey Hamlin! lol
ReplyDeleteJustin was looking good for me for a while...if only he was using Michelins :P
ReplyDeleteA note to Hanny... Kyle qualified for the race with a speed of 175.698, compaired to Dave Blaney's 177.166, and Robbie Gordon's 177.326! Now I know it'll be a great race when we see Kyle move up thru the field to finish in the top 10! LOL, I'm just yankin' on your chain. I'm on your side bro!
ReplyDeleteRed Bull continued their stranglehold on pole position in F1 as they swept to their third 1-2 starting slots for the race tomorrow. But don't worry, the other teams are nipping at their heels....if you ignore the 0.7 seconds a lap difference, that is.
ReplyDeleteCR...haha. He likes a challenge. Couldn't believe how wild the NNS race was. They raced Darlington like it was a Friday night short track 35 lapper!
ReplyDeleteAfter a very unpredictable Cup race, the standings with one to go are:
ReplyDeleteSB 5
Hanny 9
jon 14
CR 15
moseby 15
Athens 19
Klv 29
Tez 53
Will the Beagle get her first win of the season; will Hanny or jon tie CR for the lead in the chase for the coveted Triple Lug Nut Trophy; or will CR extend his lead? Tune in tomorrow.
Looks like the Beagle wins one... Congrats, and happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteGood job, SB! Happy Mothers' Day! What was Mark Martin's problem?!
ReplyDeleteFinal standings:
ReplyDeleteSB 10
Hanny 15

In the chase for the coveted Triple Lug Nut trophy, CR continues to lead the standings with 2 victories. Athens,Jon, Kristen, Hanny, and the Beagle each have one victory.
Next week finds all three NASCAR series on the track at Dover, while F1 breaks with tradition and heads to the hallowed streets of Monte Carlo. See you then.
