The Trifecta- Blue Skies Edition

Greetings, race fans. Time once again for another thrilling installment of fantasy racing's easiest game, the Trifecta. We've had some pretty exciting finishes the past few week. In the chase for the coveted Triple Lug Nut trophy, CR has a one race lead over Jon, Hanny, and Kristen.

The weather report from Richmond and Kansas looks good with only a 10% chance of rain over the weekend.

This week features another "Build Your Own" Trifecta, with races in the Camping World Truck Series, Nationwide, Sprint Cup, and IRL.

Just a reminder that there is NO PENALTY for changing a driver within races (i.e.- switching Kyle for Kevin in the Nationwide race). A 5 point penalty will be assessed for changing races once the first race is complete.

Now on to the races:

First up is the NASCAR Nationwide race from Richmond, Friday April 30; green flag drops at 7:43pm ET.

Next is the IRL race from Kansas, Saturday May 1; green flag drops at 2:00pm ET.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Richmond, Saturday May 1; green flag drops at 7:44pm ET.

Finally, the NASCAR Camping World Truck series race from Kansas, Sunday May 2; green flag drops at 1:19pm ET. (Sorry Hanny and Jon, Kyle and Kevin are not on the entry list for this race, so no chance at a Kylefecta or a Kevfecta this weekend.)

Players, pick your drivers.

  14. Hamlin finished 11th, or 12th?

  15. CR-

Driver change noted. The results I saw last night had Denny in 12th, but then again, they were wrecking as they came across the finish line. I checked NASCAR.com this morning, and they show Denny in 11th, so that's what we'll go with. The points have been adjusted accordingly-

    Athens 5
    Hanny 5
    Tez 7
    jon 10
    moseby 16
    CR 17
    SB 29

The Beagle will be scrapping the poor showing in the Cup race, and taking Todd Bodine in the truck race and the 5 point penalty.

  16. Another close and exciting finish to this week's Trifecta. Tez picked two of three winners this week, but despite that strong showing, Athens eked out her first win of the season by one point. Congratulations Athens!!!!

The standings with all races complete:

    Athens 7
    Tez 8
    Hanny 14
    moseby 16
    SB 18
    CR 29
    jon 35

And in the chase for the coveted Triple Lug Nut Trophy CR still holds the lead with 2 wins over jon, Hanny, Kristen, and Athens.

  17. Congrats to Athens!

Thanks SB for keeping this going. I think everyone who misses a race should be called a start n' park driver/person. That makes me one, since I missed the 1st Trifecta. Someone send out a missing person report on Kristen!

  18. LOL, CR!!! That could be a new rule- miss a race, you become a start and park driver and have to start from the back of the field(your picks are logged in last).

It will have to wait until next season, however. Unlike NASCAR, we here at the Trifecta do not make up the rules as we go :o).

  19. I was ruined by Logano...however, given the choice of him or Luongo having a blinder, I'll take Looooooo for another 11 games please :)

  20. Thanks y'all! I haven't played all year but I just knew Kyle was going to win.

  21. Dang, my apologies for not saying 'congrats Athens!'.

I was moving this weekend and the internet doesn't get hooked up until this Thursday so I had to rely on any wireless connections in the apartment block with no way to tell how long I'd be online before it would drop out, lol

  22. Congrats Athens!

I guess I am the start and parker for this week...sorry forgot to tell everyone I had to jet out to Cleveland to see my grandmother - kinda a last min trip.

I'll be around to win the Darlington Trifecta not to worry!!
