The Trifecta- The Long And Winding Road Edition

Greetings race fans. Yep, it's that time of the week again. We're back on the road with another exciting edition of the Trifecta.

Last week, CR captured his 4th win of the season to vault himself once again to the top of the standings in the chase for the coveted Triple Lug Nut Trophy.

3 of the 4 races this week are on road courses, while the Campling Workd Truck Series heads to Nashville. This begs two questions- why don't the trucks run a road course, and would a road course truck race be exciting to watch?

So, on to the races:

1.) The NASCAR Nationwide Series race from Watkins Glen, Saturday August 7; green flag drops at 2:18pm ET (entry list)

2.) The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Nashville, Saturday August 7 ; green flag drops at 9:19pm ET (entry list)

3.) The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Watkins Glen, Sunday August 8; green flag drops at 1:18pm ET (entry list)

4.) The IRL race from Mid-Ohio, Sunday August 8; green flag drops at 3:20pm ET (entry list)

Good luck, and let's go racing!!!

  12. Trucks raced at...
    Watkins Glen 1996-2000
    Sonoma 1995-1998
    Topeka 1995-1999

DW did not win at Topeka after all... must have just been a nightmare I had.

Boris Said won the last truck race in Sonoma.

Ron Fellows won 2 of the 5 at the Glen, both from the pole.

Ron Hornaday won a truck race on all three of those road courses.

  25. With two races complete, Kristen is hoping that Helio dances her in to the second perfect score of the season.

    The standings:

    Klv 2
    Tez 4
    Athens 7
    SB 8
    Hanny 9
    CR 10
    jon 10
    moseby 13
    dwindy1 38

Athens, Hanny, and Jon are through for the day; the rest of us are waiting on the outcome of the IRL race.

  26. Well, Helio didn't dance Kristen into a perfect score, but he did waltz her into victory lane for her 3rd Trifecta win of the season.

    Athens 13
    SB 13
