NFL's Conduct Policy

This is a great report on the NFL's criminal element from a fellow Dolphin fan. Jill did a great job with her research and writing here. Be sure to check the chart at the end to see where your favorite NFL team stacks up on player arrests.

  1. I have to wonder how many of these NFL players come from disfunctional familys. It's real simple in my mind, this problem stems from people not being taught right from wrong by their parents when growing up.

I'm not sure how you can control this problem with young adults. The horse is already out of the barn so to speak.

NFL owners spend millions on these players. They check them out as much as possible because of this investment and yet they are questioned (Dez Bryant and the Denver Broncos) if perceived to be "insensitive" when trying to protect their investment.

Even with Commissioner Goodell's marching papers from the owners, stepping up educating, policing and penalizing offenders, this problem is not going away.

It's another indictment of our society's lax morals.

  2. Part of the problem is that many of these kids don't have capable parents or any adults able to take the responsibility to teach them right from wrong. Teachers, coaches, mentors will take on some of that role but ultimately dont have the power a parent has.

Those are some scary stats in the article...
