Coca-Cola 600 Chat

Since it's not up yet...

Questions to be answered;
- can Chip Ganassi have the perfect day and nab a win tonight?
- will Roger Penske be peeved at all his Indy pit issues and go 1-2-3?
- will Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin get through the race without swearing at each other?

  2. fair enough, I see they went longer than the Indy 500 did in terms of the first caution coming out, lol

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yep! Kristen will be happy that the #2 has checked out already.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hey tez!

I know a little more about what's going on here. I've gotta work tonight so will only be around a couple of hours. Let's see if Kyle can pull off the Charlotte trifecta... Watch out Denny!

    ReplyDelete
  5. woot! glad to hear Kurt has checkd out! Hubby has hijacked the TV so I am not yet watching but will catch up to live tv as soon as I can.

Man Penske had a crap Indy 500. I didnt know his youngest son Jay was fielding a team. The wrecks in those cars are so violent!

I'll pop in and out and be here consistent once I can watch the race!

    Go Kurt! Go Junior!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. "watching" lap by lap on nascar.com...so far so good for Kurt!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I miss the side-by-side during the ads...too spoiled with both the F1 and Indycars using it today :(

    ReplyDelete
  8. well so far I've got no commercials and little to no info on what is actually going on! So my standards are pretty low Tez! LOL

PS. got all of our reservations done for Sonoma...think we are pretty set!

  9. kristen-

welcome to my world from now until the end of the season. With the exception of 3 night races on ABC, it's LBL. At least there's Race Buddy for the next 5.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ok, I've got the TV under my control!! Fast forwarding now...

    ReplyDelete
  11. It's a Looooong race... Kyle's crew must have made some good adjustments as the sun wanders out of sight.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I concur, SB and Kristen...watching the races online only really bites :(

    ReplyDelete
  13. that's good since the only alternative is dead :P

    ReplyDelete
  14. Damn, Jimmie's in the lead. Time to take a nap now!

    ReplyDelete
  15. oooo, Bowyer ran over Bill's airhose I think.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hopefully he's getting the bad luck done with now so he'll be all good for the road courses, lol

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dont fall asleep yet, Kurt has something for the 48 I think

    ReplyDelete
  18. Kristen, I was just thinking that!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'd say watch for Happy as twilight turns into night.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Go Kyle! Put that 48 in its place! The Busch boys are gonna tag team JJ!lol

    ReplyDelete
  21. Tez would you be up for a roommate? Race fan friend from AZ thinking of coming to Sonoma...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Those Busch Brothers can be problem children when together! Watch out JJ!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  23. They ALL better watch out for Happy because the night time will be the right time for Happy!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Okay, they've made the Junior fans happy, now let's watch the front of the the race!

    ReplyDelete
  25. JJ's loving this--the brothers Busch racing each other!

    ReplyDelete
  26. that might be tough, Kristen...there were only rooms with 1 bed left when I booked.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Now let's have a JJ-Busch brothers sandwich!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hey tez! Why can't you share your bed?

    ReplyDelete
  29. if I say I snore, do I get the room to myself, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ok - no worries Tez! Just thought I would ask...he can get his own room, they are cheap!! LOL

I love how Kyle thinks Kurt should just let him go...those brothers....

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'd love to see Kurt put Kyle in the wall just for Kyle thinking that!

    ReplyDelete
  32. OOPS, did I just say that?

Can ANYONE catch up to Johnson, PLEASE??

    ReplyDelete
  33. Just like always - whoever is out front, checks out...thank god for pit stops.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ...and phantom debris cautions, lol

    ReplyDelete
  35. Pretty soon, green flag pit stops

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hello!!! Am I just in time? Looks like my pick is leading! Y'all know this doesn't mean I like him, just that I think he's going to win!lol

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey Athens -just in time for a LONG race to go! LOL

    Good blog BTW...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank you. I'm so glad I found the email from the FOX blogger from Athens from 2008!!! I had totally forgot about him! It was bittersweet cause the same day Mr. Burkhalter died. Come on, Kyle!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Tez yelling "go Kurt" yet(or worse yet, "go Jimmie"?

    ReplyDelete
  40. LOL SB...

Woot! Two big competitors taking each other out! Love it...

    ReplyDelete
  41. What's with all the pit misfortune today?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Kyle is in trouble! I shouldn't have come home!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Geez! Looks like Kyle is back in the pack...

    ReplyDelete
  44. First, Denny and Jimmie playing bumper cars, now Kyle and Brad K playing bumper cars on pit road! This is TOO RICH!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well, at least the pitstops are trying to make the race exciting, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Well I gotta go, you folks have fun!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Dang pits are a problem today, Indy and NASCAR. This will mix things up.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Kristen-

I gather you haven't checked out the Trifecta standings. Tez is through for the day with a total of 4 points. If anyone other than Kyle wins, Tez gets his first win of the season. If Kyle wins, the tie goes to Athens because she got her picks in sooner.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Bye Dwindy! Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Later Dwindy! Have a great rest of the weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Let's see how good JJ is in dirty air!

    ReplyDelete
  52. bye, Dwindy, great to chat with you for the 500!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Marcos DID catch a break--he had a tire going down when the last caution came out.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Ah, I hadnt seen the trifecta results yet...I am out of it thanks to Helio.

Kyle does not look like he will win at the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Dwindy...sorry I just got here! Thanks for the comment on my blog! Have fun this weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I was out of it no thanks to Hunter-Reay. I had initially picked Ed Carpenter but changed it to RHR. Had I stuck with Carpenter, I might have still had a chance.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Junior was about to go a lap down and guess what? A phantom debris caution!

    ReplyDelete
  58. so were Jimmie and Kyle, can't pin that one on Jr, lol

    ReplyDelete
  59. Man Kurt is just rocking the restarts. I swear that drag racing is helping.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Happy in the top 5--I LIKE it!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Tez, every NASCAR fan knows that 88 gets the phantom cautions for debris when he's: 1) the first car a lap down; 2) when he's ABOUT to go a lap down; 3) when a caution would give him a chance to win by bunching up the field.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Dale Jr in the pits for overheating. I predict a phantom caution in the next 5 laps so he can take the wave around.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Now, John! I don't know that!

    ReplyDelete
  64. LOL Beverly! I'm saying it tongue firmly in cheek, of course!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Jamie up to third, Chip Ganassi is having a pretty sweet day so far.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Oh leave poor Jr alone - that was legit trash! LOL

Jamie might have something for later...but Kurt pretty stout - happy on the radio. Happy Kurt = Fast Kurt

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jamie's probably the fastest car on the track now. It would be sweet if he won.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I find it hard to talk with my tongue in my cheek. Makes me sound like a retard. Sorry doc! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  69. It looked like Jr. had been driving behind a garbage truck!

    ReplyDelete
  70. jon... sweet for Jamie and Chip. Not for Bowyer, Kurt, and all the rest...

    ReplyDelete
  71. If Bowyer wins, he'd be the third driver in NASCAR history to win a race on his birthday. (Cale Yarborough and Kyle Busch are the other two.)

    ReplyDelete
  72. Tez, you're right. He's done. Splitter is all bent up like an accordion and the front end is smashed in several inches.

    ReplyDelete
  73. hmmmm... seems to be a different kind of year for the 48 team...

    ReplyDelete
  74. That was a beautiful sight- Chad Knaus headed for the garage

    ReplyDelete
  75. SB...I said that to my 4-year-old nephew one night when JJ wrecked and he told me not to talk bad about Jimmie Johnson or our President!LOL

    ReplyDelete
  76. Seems like JJ's racing luck has run out.

    ReplyDelete
  77. JJ doesnt seem too concerned...

I was off eating back now!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yup, he backed up to Cupcake on purpose. Good thing they are both friends...

he is good now- got the paper off

    ReplyDelete
  79. I was away--what was Harvick's unscheduled pit stop for?

    ReplyDelete
  80. I caught that on the NASCAR.com site, on the lap by lap.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Not going to be able to see the finish. Maybe Speed will rerun it at 4 in the morning when I wake up to GO TO WORK!!! Hospitals never close! Have a great rest of the weekend, guys! Go, Kyle!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Never mind, it was for Robby Gordon. Happy took the wave around as he had pitted 9 laps earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I'm confident Happy will be back towards the front soon. Caution for Biffle hitting the wall. HUGE break for Harvick, as he can pit now for four tires and fuel.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Bye Athens!

Couldnt figure out what you were talking about Jon...glad you figured it out.

Explantion now on TV re: harvick

    ReplyDelete
  85. Harvick had an unscheduled pit stop. Shortly after that stop, a caution came out. He took the wave around. Then shortly after the restart, another caution came out, for Biffle hitting the wall. Harvick was able to pit on this caution. He's on the tail end of the lead lap. He has fresh tires while the rest of the lead lap cars have a dozen or so laps on their tires.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Chad and JJ should not give up their day jobs for acting.

    ReplyDelete
  87. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Don't look now, but Harvick's in 16th and moving up FAST.

    ReplyDelete
  89. lol jon, I saw that just as I posted, then I deleted, but too late. You're FAST! Ever thought about driving a race car?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Ah, Jon, Kurt is on rails tonight - Happy gonna need a miracle to catch him! LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. LOL CR! I did at one point in my life!

Kristen, I just want Happy to finish ahead of Kyle! That's all I'm concerned about now!

    ReplyDelete
  92. You crack me up Jon...Go Happy Go!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I've seen drivers with better cars than Kurt and have their engines blow up late in the race.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Kurt's my lugnuts A pick. GO KURT!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I'd like anyone to finish in front of Kyle, Jon ;)

    ReplyDelete
  96. ...and Jamie's on my 3wide $$$ team... hmmm... Which one do I need to win most?

    ReplyDelete
  97. nice picks this week tez. I'd give my congrats, but then Kyle would win for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yea I am a little worried aobut Kurt's engine - Dodge power is strong tonight just hope it lasts.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Cupcake in the lead! WOOHOO!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. dang it!

what is up with all these dang commercials

    ReplyDelete
  101. Green flag pit stops are coming! Money stops--this is where the crew makes their money (or steals it, if they screw up on the money stop).

    ReplyDelete
  102. Starting to look like Chip's day. I really like Jamie, and it's cool he's been doing so good this year. Jack, has never been one of my favorite owners, even though I'm a Ford guy.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I think Jamie and Tony are the only guys in the field who have won Cup races with three different manufacturers.

    ReplyDelete
  104. WOOT! Jr leads! Where is Gene to make fun of me...

    ReplyDelete
  105. Gene is on a Sasquach hunt! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  106. Ouch. Man Smoke has nailed a lot of crew members. Didnt he hit one of his own guys last year?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Time for a new Mustang... sigh...

    ReplyDelete
  108. Woot ! My fantasy team doing good with Burton and KEnseth in top 5.

I dont mind Cupcake winning but would prefer Kurt!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Dang Tez! You just helped my boy who is stellar on restarts!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Exactly what Cupcake DID NOT want to see--a caution for Marcos hitting the wall.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Kurt and Matt beat Jamie off pitroad.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Anyone sad to see Fox go? Forgot TNT takes over next week

    ReplyDelete
  113. WOot! Thats what we call a Miller Lite Fly BY!

    ReplyDelete
  114. DO I hear Jon yelling? Top 10...

    ReplyDelete
  115. No, because he lost two spots right after that!

    ReplyDelete
  116. It is good to see Johnson 36 laps down. Good job Jimmie.

Now if there are no more cautions, Oh what the heck, there will probably be another one soon.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Hey Photo! you woke up! should be a good finish...

Well then you were yelling for another reason Jon...he is still pretty far behind Kyle unfortunately.

    ReplyDelete
  118. There's gona be a wreck... maybe... maybe not... GO Harvick! Get your top 10!!!

    ReplyDelete
  119. it's Kurt's to lose at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Kenseth and Harvick made contact a few laps ago and caused Harvick to lose momentum.

    ReplyDelete
  121. YES!! Now they need to do this at Sonoma!!

    ReplyDelete
  122. And who was it picked Kurt for the Trifecta?????

It sure wasn't the girl in the Miller Lite shirt :o)

    ReplyDelete
  123. Good job Kurt and Brew Crew! Off to do my GBU. Later!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Way to go Kurt! Good race, except for Harvick coming in 11th! Night all, have a great Memorial Day!!

    ReplyDelete
  125. oooo, Burton telling off Kyle.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Wow, Jeff Burton in Kyle's face. Love it! Later all.

    ReplyDelete
  127. g'night everyone, have a good day slacking off tomorrow while some of us work for a living, lol :P

    ReplyDelete
  128. Naw I never pick Kurt cuz I always jinx him...

Have a great rest of your weekend everyone!

    (that was kinda funny Tez...)

    ReplyDelete
  129. Good race and kudos to Kurt. I stayed awake for the whole race.Take cars gang. see you at the next race.

    ReplyDelete
  130. well, we had last Monday off for Victoria Day, Kristen so it's all good :)

    ReplyDelete
