It's Dega Baby! Race Chat

The engines have been fired and it is time for the last potentially great race of the year...

I am home sick =( so should be around most of the race and who knows what wacky things might come out of my medicated brain today!

Let's go racing!!

  1. Woot! Jr is in car reporter for today...

    ReplyDelete
  2. I'm sorry your're sick. If Dale or Kurt wins that will be good medicine for you!

    ReplyDelete
  3. It was nice to see the young lady that was injured in the spring back at the race. It is also good that the fence is taller. However, did you see the fence move when the cars roared by it?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Menard's tire problem reminds me that I read an article about drivers talking to Goodyear about excessive vibrations. I hope the race doesn't end with tires being the main focus of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Ummmmm...it appears that I am having a conversation with the voices in my head again.

    ReplyDelete
  6. KRIS.

DID YOU FIGURE OUT WHO BOB GRIESE WAS

    ReplyDelete
  7. Scotch is a good remedy for some forms of illness. Would not recomend for mental illness, however.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hi, Gunny & CR! Glad I'm not alone.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ryan has a hot dog wrapper on his grill... :-(

    ReplyDelete
  10. NAW WOULDN'T MIS THIS ONE, JUST WONDERING IF THAT ANGEL RIDING WITH TONY AGAIN TODAY

    ReplyDelete
  11. Hi Vol! Sorry, had to switch out the laundry!! Good to see you around again! Hope you are well, thanks for the well wishes...I missed the prerace but heard Carl Edwards will give the trophy to the girl if he wins. She would probably prefer the $$! LOL

The fence always moves there - the draft they create is insane...

    ReplyDelete
  12. I thought the taco comment was ignorant but not racist.

I'm worried about the "no bump" rule today. What if a driver realizes he is and lets off the gas and causes a pile up?

    ReplyDelete
  13. THEN WE GONNA HAVE A REALLY BIG ONE REAL EARLY

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hey GUNNY!!! Ok yes, I vaguely know who Bob Griese is...didnt know he was announcing though.

Hey CR - Yea, scotch would not be good right now...throat is already burning!

    WOOT! GO #2!

    ReplyDelete
  15. KRIS,

SEND THE HUBBY TO HEALTH FOOD STORE AND GET SOME OSHA COUGH SRYUP, MAKE IT INTO A TEA AND DRINK SORE THROAT WILL BE GONE BEFORE THE NED OF THE RACE

    ReplyDelete
  16. Seems dumb to me to try to police the bump drafting, you would think they could police themselves...course their is the lack of talent factor but you best just stay away from those guys!

I am sure at the end of the race the rules will be looser...

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hope they keep racing like they are. I don't like it when they line up like a train. The truck race was good.

    ReplyDelete
  18. LOL Joe was just trying to buy some time to finish 20 laps not 4...

GUNNY - I'll let him know! I have been slugging the cough syrup out of the bottle...hehehe

    ReplyDelete
  19. "I'd rather not say" if Kasey has a problem?? Those wacky crew chiefs...wonder if they will send ESad back to draft Kasey back up to the pack.

    ReplyDelete
  20. KRIS,

OSHA TASTE REALLY BAD, BUT I PROMISE IT IS WILL WORK, I SUGGEST TAHT YOU MAKE IT AS OR MIX WITH CUP OF HOT TEA.

IT IS A GREAT CURE BUT TASTE REALLY BAD

    ReplyDelete
  21. LOL Gunny... "SORE THROAT WILL BE GONE BEFORE THE NED OF THE RACE"... I know Ned is in the booth, and I know the race will have an end... I do the same thing when I post too! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  22. CR,

US OKIE'S AINT REAL SMART, NOT MUCH BOOK LEARNING

    ReplyDelete
  23. I hope ESad does well in the Ford.

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOL - its just cuz his right hand types faster than his left!

    ReplyDelete
  25. GOSH VOL I ONLY WENT FOR 16 YEARS

    ReplyDelete
  26. Gunny... You Okies are a damn lot smarter than those politicians in Washington, and most college professors!

    ReplyDelete
  27. CR,

NOT A POLITICIAN BUT DO WORK FOR A CITY GOVERNAMENT, BUT MY STUFF IS DONE ON A BALL FIELD FOR KIDS

    ReplyDelete
  28. CR, I sure agree with you on that! Look at Mears...it will probably only last for a minute or so but it is great for me to see.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Way to go Vol... Now they're lining up like a long choo-choo train! lol

    ReplyDelete
  30. I WOULD SO LOVE TO SEE JR. LEAD A COUPLE LAPS AND IF HE WON I DON'T THINK I COULD CONTAIN MYSELF

    ReplyDelete
  31. Everyone was looking forward to Dega... one of the most exciting of the year. Well, NASCAR has successfully made it into a yawner. So much for them being worried about their ratings. Might as well give the cup to Johnson, who would have just run around in the back anyways. Don't touch Jimmmy. Where did R-a-c-i-n-g go? This is like powder puff football. BORNING!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hey, everybody! Great parade, I mean race, huh?lol

    ReplyDelete
  33. Gunny, my Hubby is working nights. If it looks like Dale is going to win this race I'm waking him up to see it. He will be out of control also.

    ReplyDelete
  34. BEFORE THIS IS ALL SAID AND DONE THE DRIVERS GONNA TELL NASCAR TO GO TO HELL AND GET AFTER IT

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yup anonymous you are *ding* correct! as are you Bev (hi!) This stupid new rule has made them all play it safe...now we get to watch a parade until 20 to go and some folks start running out of talent.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hey Bev! Don't say anything about the F1 race or trifecta. I want to watch the race replay on Speed this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anon, I respectfully disagree. They've had over 60 lead changes. I don't like the train racing but I think the guys are doing their best to put on a show for us. Maybe I'm just simple or easily entertained.

    ReplyDelete
  38. CR, I wouldn't spoil your fun for anything!lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. KRIS,
DON'T THINK IT WILL BE NEAR THT FAR OFF, CASUE YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO, NASCAR ISN'T GONNA DO ANYTHING TO THE BIG BOYS CHASE DRIVERS OR NOT

    ReplyDelete
  40. VOL

DON'T YOU GO RUNNING YOURSELF DOWN WHILE I AM AROUND, YOU GOT MORE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS STUFF THEN I WILL HAVE IN 3 YEARS

    ReplyDelete
  41. True GUNNY - who has a way to get in Junior's ear and tell him to start the bumping at will - we know they wont punish him!! =)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Cord, why can't you talk to me like Gunny talks to Vol?lol

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, Bev... Because I'm not Gunny! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey everyone! Too bad for the Blue Deuce. I'm Happy for the #29 running well, though!

    ReplyDelete
  45. The Blue Deuce is two laps down in 39th now.

    ReplyDelete
  46. IT REALLY AMAZES ME HOW NASCAR CAN SCREW UP AND IT BECOMES THE DRIVERS FAULT, A GRREN PIT ROW LIGHT AND THEY SWITCH WHEN 6 CARS ARE 1 SECOND FROM HITTING THE PITS

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hey Jon... Harvick & Mears look good today!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Dang it!! I was a little behind live TV, he has time to make it up if he can keep his head...

Tryson will be out of there if they fall further in the Chase. Word is they already have the next CC hired.

    ReplyDelete
  49. JJ running uncharacteristically bad

    ReplyDelete
  50. CR, they sure do! They're working very well together. Harvick started towards the back and already is moving to the front. But unfortunately, Mears is a lap down.

    ReplyDelete
  51. GO JR. GO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    ReplyDelete
  52. most of them arent even racing - they are just riding around. as long as they stay out of trouble they will be ok -- course I hope for a few more yellows so Kurt can get his laps back.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jr at the point, now all is well in NASCAR. And Bobby Labonte in the #71 is second.

    ReplyDelete
  54. So Newman and Stewart were still penalized, even though they passed thru the pits. If NASCAR wants to play it that way, drivers should make hard right turns at pit entrance, and cause a massive wreck! NASCAR needs a green, yellow, red pit row light system. No penalty if a driver makes the committment cone while pit light is yellow. Give the drivers some time to make a safe descision.

    ReplyDelete
  55. KRIS WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE CC THING WITH JR.

    ReplyDelete
  56. CR - but that would make way too much sense and NASCAR couldnt make decisions to fix the outcomes that way!! =P

GUNNY - I dunno, I am one who thinks that only Pops can get Jr out of his funk but Lance seems to have Junior's respect. They have been a disappointment so far.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hi everyone!

CR- Why aren't you on Facebook looking for my dog???????????

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hey Speedy -- dont be stealing Lugnuts to go on Facebook! LOL I hope its your Facebook dog that is missing and not a beagle!

THANK YOU for sticking up for my crew ESPN! GEEZ Kurt and his 'tude really gets to me sometimes...

    ReplyDelete
  59. KRIS,

I THINK YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT EURY JR., HAD A FRIEND OF MINE SAY SOMETHING THE OTHER DAY THAT SURPRISED ME. HE THINKS THAT IF JJ WINS THIS CHAMPIONSHIP HE THINKS KNAUS WILL EITHER LEAVE AND START HIS OWN TEAM OR ASK TO GO TO THE 88 FOR THE CHALLENGE OF MOVING JR. UP, OF COURSE I THINK IT WOULD BE AT LEST 2011 BEFORE THAT

    ReplyDelete
  60. Gunny, I could see Knaus leave to form his own team, but in possible tandem with JJ.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Kristen-

Yes, it's a Facebook thing. Katie is here blissfully chewing on the Chad voodoo dog.

    ReplyDelete
  62. GUNNY - I cant see Chad wanting to work with Jr vs. proven winner in JJ. Chad and JJ are like two peas in a pod - they have the exact same personality! Jr would be too "laid back" and not meticulous enough for Chad to enjoy working with IMO. Jr needs father figure like Pops to kick him in the butt...

Good to know Katie is safe, SB!

    ReplyDelete
  63. wonder how much it would cost to buy him from dei

    ReplyDelete
  64. SB... I was wondering when you would start looking for your "island" dog. lol I'll look later. I promise!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Getting racier now...well at least its double file!

Kurt is never going to get those laps back...he needs Sam and Stremme to start making some yellows!

    ReplyDelete
  66. hold your horses kris, it will happen can almost promise you that

    ReplyDelete
  67. the yahoo chat tells me that there's been no action at all....has the race evn started yet?

    ReplyDelete
  68. CR- Yep, he disappeared this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  69. says Marcos, Kasey 1-2, stop the race now! :P

    ReplyDelete
  70. Mark Martin is thinking; Juan is eating a taco.

    ReplyDelete
  71. ok cr you are suspended for the next race lol lol lol

    ReplyDelete
  72. Has anyone else watched Modern Family? It is absolutely hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Gunny... lmao! ;-)

SB... your dog is 30 percent found. That's not good, because 70 percent of him is still missing! lol

    ReplyDelete
  74. I'm laughing at myself! That's good, because I haven't laughed much lately! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  75. True Story: Hubby got up and wanted tocos. What happened to Kurt? The only people in Cup I don't like are Martin and Hamlin. Martin is a Negative Nellie and Hamlin killed any chance Marcos A. and David R. had to get into the chase.

    ReplyDelete
  76. See? Hamlin warned and not put to the back. Marcos would be sent backward. UGH!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hey Tez - yea not a good race for you either...

I dont like Hamlin or Mark either Vol!!! Hamlin is also has a horrible personality - he throws his crews under the bus all the time too. Did you see the drivers on Smarter than a 5th grader?? Hamlin looked like an IDIOT!!

Watched Modern Family 1x but then left so we havent seen it since. Glee is our fav so far...

    ReplyDelete
  78. vol, all drivers get a warning the 1st time. I know you know that. We'll see if Hamlin get's a "second" warning...

    GO RYAN!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Thanks, CR. I forgot about that warning.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I wish Kyle would make up his mind which line he wants!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Marcos can claim he can't understand NASCAR officials with their accents ;)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Marcos can "claim" that tez... But I don't think Mike Helton would buy it.

    GO HAPPY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Talk about a WHOOPING...the Giants are taking one now. My son-in-law will be upset all week.LOL

    ReplyDelete
  84. Hehhehe...I have to agree re: Hamlin Vol - at least Kurt didnt embarrass himself. I thought Carl did the best, Mikey was hilarious!

    Looking racy finally!!

Kudos to Kasey...right back up front.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Ok, just so everyone knows I'm not crazy. I get jazzed when my favs get going. My favs are; Newman, Harvick & Smoke. I'm not a one trick pony as far as having a fav driver. BTW, you can add Marcos to my list!

    ReplyDelete
  86. Guess Denny won't need anymore warnings from NASCAR.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Or, as Sterling Marlin would say, "The engine done blowed up."

    ReplyDelete
  88. The Blue Deuce gets the free pass and is back on the lead lap.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Jon... you and I seem to be saying the same thing, just with different words! lol

    ReplyDelete
  90. Where's SpeedBeagle? I want her to know her dog is 30 percent found. lol

    ReplyDelete
  91. Han picked Hamlin so maybe he's knocked Moseby and me out of last place on the Trifecta!lol CR, that's all I'll say about the Trifecta. I won't say that you're.................

    ReplyDelete
  92. I know it is wrong, but I can't stop smiling now. CR, I can't bring myself to have just one fav either. Actually, I'm a happy camper as long as it isn't Hamlin or Martin that wins. I really want to see Marcos get several wins though. I love the attitude that Stewart and Harvick have. It makes me laugh when they give the media a hard time.

    ReplyDelete
  93. volfan put that southern belle magic on hamlin, way to go girl, now turnit on for johnson

    ReplyDelete
  94. I'm here. I'm just going back and forth between here and FB. What I want to know is which 70# is still lost. If it's the 70# you have to pick up after, it can stay lost :o).

    ReplyDelete
  95. I'm trying, Gunny. He is 33rd. Wonder if he is just hanging there on purpose? GO JPM!

    ReplyDelete
  96. why can't JJ blow up to make this Chase interesting?

    ReplyDelete
  97. If JJ ends up winning this there will be a huge collective groan...

Happy Kurt is back in it...

    ReplyDelete
  98. Think we'll make it without a big wreck?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Man, I hope Marcos can stay in the top 5...hopefully ends up 1st.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Big one has to be coming, intensity is getting high. None of them know if they can come to the front or how much bump drafting it will take since they have been just riding around.

Lets hope we get at least 35 laps of interesting racing outta Dega!

    ReplyDelete
  101. VOLFAN BAT YOUR EYELASHES AT JJ AND IT WILL BE ALL OVER .

    ReplyDelete
  102. Big wreck is coming... I can feel it in my veins...

    ReplyDelete
  103. YAWN!!! Good god, back to single file - they better not be waiting til the last lap to all wreck each other...

    ReplyDelete
  104. I could live with Jamie Mc winning. He's on my team in Ford Martin's fantasy league this week.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Maybe JJ will cause the wreck when he tries to go to the front, Gunny. I know K! They're getting on my nerves.

    ReplyDelete
  106. yahoo says JJ is losing the draft.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Oh brother! Mark is scared to run with Junyer up by the wall. Mark is such a wimp!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Jamie is going to cause a wreck if he keeps trying to block.

    ReplyDelete
  109. JJ is 30th not lost the draft though, just in the back.

Funny that Mark Martin is afraid to go with Jr to the uber high line!

    WOOT! Jr to the front!!

    ReplyDelete
  110. GO JUNIOR!!! lol, the kid need's some encouragement!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Even better- Jr. and McMurray 1st and 2nd. Hope it stays that way. It would mean a major jump in the standings for the Beagle.

    ReplyDelete
  112. CR, LOL! I've always liked you but you just moved to the top of my list of great people with that comment.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Junior missed a great opportunty to get in front of Mark and Brad.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Well that would be short lived!

I got Cupcake on the fantasy team too I think...

    ReplyDelete
  115. I've got Mears, Bowyer, Jr, and Reutimann on my fantasy team.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Go Jr GO!!!!

    Kurt back near top 10...excellent...

    ReplyDelete
  117. My team for Kristen's league is Tony, Jr, Jeffie, and Brian Vickers.

For Ford Martin's Facebook league, I've got Tony, Jr, and Cupcake.

    ReplyDelete
  118. So, is anyone shocked that Mark didn't stay with Dale? I'm not!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Dang, Kurt cannot move up, stupid damage!

    Make a move boys!!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Driver net was not down...yikes. Did not want to see that happen to Ryan.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Guys, that's really ugly. Where's the red flag?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Thank god he landed on Harvick, that broke the initial hit a little.

    ReplyDelete
  123. This is taking too long, isn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  124. That roof is really crushed in isn't it.

    ReplyDelete
  125. They are probably letting everyone pit before throwing the red flag so its not a fuel issue.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Kristen, I agree, Newman landing on Harvick probably dissapated a lot of energy.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Ryan on the radio...he is ok...THANK GOD!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Not trying to be a crappy person here, but F1 and NHRA do a much better job with their safety crews helping the drivers.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Newman's car landing on Harvick's hood saved Newman from further damage. Thank God he's okay.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Man, Newman cannot be loving Dega - last time Carl landed on him, this time he lands on Kevin.

    Who caused that wreck??

I think since Ryan was communicating they are going really slow and gingerly. I think they responded pretty good job.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Vol....I can remember DJ being so mad at the safety crew taking so long that he WALKED back to his pit! He was hot!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Dang Ambrose looked like he was getting pushed by Robby and Smoke slowed down and Newman got sandwiched...ugly!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Newman out of the car! woot! Brushing the mud and grass off even...

    ReplyDelete
  134. Did you see Harvick's windshield get smacked? I bet that shook Kevin up big time! It would me.

    ReplyDelete
  135. It sure was good to see Ryan walking. I'm so glad he is okay.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Yea, cars falling out of the sky onto your windshield cant be a good feeling.

Kurt is still on lead lap thanks to Ryan--

I think they other reason they waited to fly the red fly was so it would be GWC finish and they only have 2 laps to kill each other again.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Probably be another wreck though.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Ryan just basicaly said NASCAR does not respect the drivers. I agree.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Ryan is pissed at NASCAR...as he should be. THey dont trust the drivers anymore to race and police themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Ryan's interview was great. He told the truth. It looked as though he wasn't standing up straight though. I hope there is no back injury.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Agreed Vol - he looked sore...next couple of days will be important for him to take extra good care.

Seems like they are all going to run outta gas now!

    ReplyDelete
  142. JJ up to 11th by doing nothing but letting others run out of gas. That dude has WAY too much luck...

    ReplyDelete
  143. BTW, Mark is going to WHINE like crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Cupcake takes it...not the way I wanted to see him win it.

    ReplyDelete
  145. JJ finished sixth, engrave the championship trophy with his name on it again.

    ReplyDelete
  146. FREAKING BRAD!!! Dude you win one race by pure luck does not mean you know how to draft...

    ReplyDelete
  147. Mark Martin felt so lucky today. lol

    Jimmie get's a top 10 finish. whoopie....

    ReplyDelete
  148. Does Jamie even have a ride for next year?
    Congrats to him.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Thanks for a great race chat everyone. I really enjoyed it.

    ReplyDelete
  150. C-ya Jon and Vol -- I am off too gotta get some groceries and more meds!

    =)

    ReplyDelete
  151. Have a great weel all! If you didn't set your clock back already, do it now. (my public service announcement)

    ReplyDelete
  152. ZZZZZZZ. Snort! Was there a race today? Oh yeah Jamie Mc Murray won. Falcons will be happy.

    ReplyDelete
