Austin F1 Track Unveiled

Looks pretty decent...appears to be a few spots where passing could happen.

  1. Looks good on paper...like the huge hill to start off with. Hubby traveling to Austin monthly for business - maybe iI'll have to join and take in a race!

  2. Have they actually turned any dirt on this project yet? Scheduled to race there in a year and half from now. Should be plenty of unemployed workers to get it finished...lol

  3. Hopefully they will make it both F1 and NASCAR friendly. Sounds like it's going to be a pretty SWEET course. For a NASCAR course, you can eliminate the sweeping esses about two-thirds of the way into the lap by creating a short arc that connects Turns 12 and 15. Turn 15 becomes Turn 13 in a NASCAR road course.

Going to be a hot race track in the summer. Glad to see the elevation ups, and downs.

  5. they won't do that, Jon...mainly because it makes sense, lol

start of the lap reminds me a bit of the revamped A1 Ring in Austria they first used in F1 in 1997.
