for those who want to anyway, lol
the burning issues;
- can Helio make it 4 wins with a repeat pole/win combo?
- will the Ganassi duo overcome Penske's apparent speed advantage from qualifying?
- since Mark Webber cracked Australia's winning drought in F1 last year with Marcos Ambrose doing the same in NASCAR (Nationwide series obviously), can either Will or Ryan become the first Aussie to win the 500?
- will Danica or Marco shrug off all the pressure and take the win?
- can anyone beat these two teams or are they merely chasing sixth today?

engines have just been fired...looks a little overcast but hopefully the wet stuff stays away for a good few hours :)
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna take Will Power to win this race!
ReplyDeleteGo Will!
crash already on lap 1...might be in for a loooooong race eh, Dwindy ;)
ReplyDeleteDanica-update....she's 28th and unhappy still
ReplyDeletesecond caution of the day...don't think we've hit lap 10 yet, lol
ReplyDeleteA war of attrition! It's gonna take Will Power!
ReplyDeleteMy gosh tez, the dude's an Aussie! Who you pulling for?
I went with Dario in the trifecta but I'm cheering for both Aussies, Dixon and Tagliani given I've lived in NZ and, now, Canada.
ReplyDeleteOkay... Go Kiwis!
ReplyDeleteand Power powers to the lead, lol
ReplyDeletebut Dario takes it right back in traffic.
ReplyDeleteblack flag for Power as he still has some of his fuel hose attached, oops.
ReplyDeleteWTH! Power's gotta go back thru the pit? Yellow flag!
ReplyDeleteHe's out of the running? Give me NASCAR!
ReplyDeletehe's still on the lead lap, if he gets a quick yellow, he'll be fine I reckon.
ReplyDeleteCan I switch cars? LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure SB will say it's too late, lol
ReplyDeleteyellow...if Power stayed on the lead lap, he's back in this.
ReplyDeleteHe's back! Now how the hell does he get past Danica? (I think he's single, he might want to follow her around for awhile!)
ReplyDeleteAndretti was the reason so the NASCAR fans will switch it off now, lol
ReplyDeletegetting past Danica will be easy since her car appears to be rubbish today, lol
ReplyDeleteNow if Will's pit crew can get it right!
ReplyDeletehmm, three wheels on their wagon; Matos and Dixon.
ReplyDeleteGeez! This is a Chinese fire drill! (Like Vince Lombardi would say: What the hell's goin' on out here!)
ReplyDeleteyellow for Matos crashing just after the restart...I agree, Dwindy, wth is going on with them today?!
ReplyDeletelap 73 of 200 for anyone only reading this and not watching, lol
ReplyDeleteOkay tez, How many cautions will there be today? 10? More?
ReplyDeletehow many have there already been, 6?
ReplyDeleteBF to Rahal for megaly blocking Wheldon there, lol
ReplyDeletethe 'problem makers' for Penske and Ganassi are 11th (Power) and 18th (Dixon) as they work their ways back to the front.
ReplyDeletePower's in 8th but now complains of vibration... Great...
ReplyDeleteToo much rubber build up on the tires???
ReplyDelete7th caution?
caution (again!) for Meira smacking the wall at turn 2. Nice timing for the leaders since they were coming up to pit stops.
ReplyDeletethey said this is the 6th yellow :)
ReplyDeleteMy guy's still in 8th... Someone's gotta hit the wall!
ReplyDeleteThey just ran a commercial with Dale Jr. in it! Wow, he was actually smiling! lol
ReplyDeleteMarco Andretti is flying! Passed both Briscoe and Castroneves and into 4th :o
ReplyDeleteHelio stalls it!
ReplyDeleteDown goes Briscoe!
ReplyDeletewith a double hit too, ouch.
ReplyDeleteSeven Cautions... Go Will!
ReplyDelete50 laps... Go turn 2!
ReplyDeleteHelio pits....odd since unless he has 2 tanks, no way he can go the distance.
ReplyDeletetez, is your TV coverage on ABC too?
ReplyDeleteit can be if I change channels, but I'm watching it on TSN.
ReplyDeleteHelio pits again...hmm, he might be able to do it now if he goes straight into 'fuel conservation' mode.
ReplyDeleteand the yellow comes out again...boy, the flagman is going to have massive biceps after this race, lol
ReplyDeletePower is fading when I need him the most... Drat!
ReplyDeleteConway pits from the lead while Dario dropping back from Rahal despite having more fuel than the guys in front...this should be an interesting last 15 laps.
ReplyDeletebig crash! Conway and...Hunter-Reay? Conway got serious air and hit the catchfence, still working on getting him out, hope he's ok :|
ReplyDeleteoh, Franchitti 1st, Wheldon 2nd, Andretti 3rd I believe.
Danica in 5th! I told ya Will wanted to follow her around!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Dario and Chip Ganassi!
Thanks for the commentary tez!
ReplyDeleteno worries, Dwindy, glad someone else was on here to chat to or I'd have been bored just writing to myself, lol
ReplyDeleteand yep, congratulations to Dario 'Mr Judd' Franchitti and Chip, huge effort to pull off both 500's in NASCAR and Indycar, first time ever in the same year too :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, I didn't know you were doing this tez. Pretty good race. Too bad about the bad accident. Hat to see drivers upside down...
ReplyDeleteWish I would have checked for a chat! Just caught the end-ish of the race - stupid pit problem for Helio screwed us up!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a horrifying crash esp from the car angles. Geez Louise! Sounds like Conway broke something(s)...hope they all come out of it ok.
Out and about might not be around for all of the 600...
