I can only hope that the commentators for NASCAR are not going to try to challenge the intelligence of it's faithful watchers by making it look like something great. What I am talking about is the comments about Stewart passing so many cars on Sunday at Homestead. I could pass 70 cars or whatever the final number was, if everyone moves up or down and there is no attempt to contest his every move. There might as well been only two drivers on the track, all other drivers were so far from either Stewart or Edwards the camera's could not pick them up. I love the sport, but it cannot be considered a race for the championship if it is not played out the same way as it is done all year. In baseball the pitchers remain pitchers, there are not forced to become something they are not just for the playoffs. In football, quarterbacks remain quarterbacks. In racing all drivers except two became spectators in Sundays boring final race.
