In the chase for the coveted Triple Lug Nut Trophy, a gutsy pick by Tez gave him the win and tied him for the standings' lead with CR.
Katie has declared open warfare on the Duck, so pick him at your own peril.
Now on to the races:
1.) The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Indianapolis, Friday July 23; green flag drops at 8:18pm ET (entry list)
2.) The NASCAR Nationwide Series race from Indianapolis, Saturday, July 24; green flag drops at 8:15pm ET (entry list)
4.) The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race from Indianapolis, Sunday July 25; green flag drops at 1:19pm ET (entry list)
A few words about changing races:
If you change races BEFORE the green flag drops in the race you want to change, there is NO PENALTY. If you change races AFTER the green flag drops in the race you want to change, you will be assessed a 5 point penalty.
Good luck, pick your drivers, and let's go racing.

CR.....Stay with Juan...Gene's theory is that and I quote: "ATH... JPM is a real man, its not his first kid, he won't be distracted.
ReplyDeleteJJ was going to miss a race to be there for the birth... what a wuss! 1000s of servicemen overseas probably wish they could ditch their job to be there for their kids, but they have a real job, JJ."
The great and mighty Han has spoken!

ReplyDeleteGimme Dario for JPM.
ReplyDeletePlease?
Danica off roading in 2 wheel drive...
ReplyDeleteJustin Wilson having parts problems... Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for another win.

ReplyDeleteyeah, but as Scott said, if they get told every race they can't stay on the inside for a restart like that, then I guess them's the rules, right?
ReplyDeleteso...I think it's Dwindy's then, congrats!
Congrats to Dwindy! Well deserved.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but when you have a front straight a mile wide, it seems that a slight move to the right near the turn, should be considered a block. Will Power said it was a block, so you can't argue wit a teamate. Seems like teamates are the enemy in all series, this year!
ReplyDeleteSB, you may have to wait awhile... they're reviewing, and Helio may still prevail.
ReplyDeleteI don't get the rule; are they saying the leader can't use the inside line on a restart or what, CR?
ReplyDeleteTez, they're saying that the leader can't chang lanes prior to the 1st turn. Helio went wide only after Will went wider. Then Will says post race that his teamate Helio blocked him! That comment blew me away! More than the black flag!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's how it looked to me too, CR...oh well, it will all come out in the wash I guess, lol
ReplyDeleteI don't know what they call 'blocking' in that series, but that ain't it!
ReplyDeleteWow, now that the dust has settled-
ReplyDeleteThere for a while, it looked like Hanny would have his 2nd Trifecta win all locked up even before the IRL race took the green flag. JPM's late race crash put an end to that, and it appeared that this week's Trifecta would be a three man race between CR, Tez, and Dwindy. Hanny wasn't going down without a fight, however, and took the 5 point race change penalty, dropping JPM in favor of Dario. That move put Hanny right back into the thick of things.
The drama in the Trifecta was surpassed only by the drama of the Indy race. Tez looked to be putting on a JJ-like performance heading towards a 3rd straight Trifecta win, but a black flag penalty stripped Helio(and Tez) of the victory, and Will Power's 2nd place finish gave Dwindy his first Trifecta win of the season.
Congrats, Dwindy!!!
Also a job well done to Hanny, whose decision to take the penalty and switch races moved him from an 8th place finish to 2nd.
The final standings-
dwindy1 10
Hanny 11
jon 12
Athens 15
Tez 15
CR 26
moseby 31
Klv 32
SB 40
Congrats to Dwindy!! Stinkin Gordon ruined it for me!
ReplyDeleteI dont even want to know what happened to Helio! sigh.
ok, Barnhart explained it in an interview; if you're the leader on a restart, you cannot have the inside lane from the braking point to the corner, that's blocking and you get pinged if someone is looking to pass you.
ReplyDeletethat is, quite possibly, the stupidest rule in any racing series on this planet.
Yea me! lol
ReplyDeleteI feel like Steve Young when the 9er's finally won a super bowl with him at QB... The monkey's off my back!!!
Heck of a way to win but then I had two first place finishers a couple of weeks back and lost...
Now, what do I need to catch those open wheel dudes? lol
Thanks everyone!
WTG Dwindy!
ReplyDeleteYou're the man.... for this week anyway...lol
Yay, Dwindy!
