Ok anyone else completely OFFENDED by the fact Phil Parsons is reporting for TNT on PIT ROAD. The dude has cars in this race - well sort of - for at least the first 20 laps anyway. If that is not a conflict in interest I have no idea what is.
EXACTLY Tez - Rusty is in the booth giving his "opinions" not actually out on pit road gathering info from other teams. Its totally different in my mind.
What if it were Rick Hendrick going up to Addington asking what his fuel mileage is for late in the race?
You could make argument Parsons cars aren't competitive but I wouldnt want to be telling anything to him if I were the other teams.
They may not be on pit lane, but I have heard them both ask questions to drivers during the races. And Rusty's #1 driver could certainly benefit from ANY info.
Perhaps Phil will get some tips from the CCs on when to start and when to park? lol
yes, Helio crashed out last night. He and Mario Moraes tangled when Mario's spotter appeared to not tell him quick enough that Helio was looking outside.
Scary fire in the IRL race last night. The rescue crew was pathetic! They usually are the best in the world, but last night they looked like the Keyston Kops!
Switching back and forth between IRL and NNS last night, and the IRL was waaaayyy more entertaining!
I concur, Gene, the Indycar race was more exciting....looks like the oval package still works since it was like a mini-Daytona with all the drafting and side-by-side racing.
Tez... the first couple of replays, it looked like Moraes' car got airborne. Then the replay from head on, you could see it didn't. Did it seem like he jumped to you at first?
not really, Gene....I thought he just moved up a touch and Helio got into the wall before hitting Mario, kinda like the Kyle/Denny deal in the All-Star race only Helio was at his back wheels *shrugs*
Kristen; no, actually, Danica had the 2nd best car out there. In the first stint, she had the best car and was chasing the leaders down but Ryan improved his car enough over the race to have the best car from about halfway on.
I'll bet the humidity is really up there now. Here on the gulf coast it must be 90% right now... Wonderful. One of these days I'm movin' to the desert.
And we have a winner in the Start and Park Sweepstakes: Start and Park Joe Nemechek!!! It's taken him all of 13 laps to park and declare himself done for the day.
Kristen- no, Tony took care of that himself at the Daytona 500 in 2007. He and Kurt can deny all they want, but there's one picture of Kurt after the hauler meeting where you can see the blend line of the makeup.
LOL SB - I am sure I told you guys about when I finally got Jr's autograph the 1st time - I came back to #2 hauler shaking and crew asked if Tony had punched me...LMAO!!
OK friends, I'm recording the rest of the race. I'm going outside, mow the lawn, tend the garden, and just be useful. lol Have a great week, and catch ya later! ;)
There was a caution with 41 laps to go and Tony topped off. Then there was another caution immediately after the restart and the guys in front had to pit. Tony stayed out.
Beverly, I think it was entirely of Joey's doing. He tried to cut in front of Kevin and he hadn't cleared him. Kevin would have given him room early in the race and given him the position. But with two laps to go, no way.
Hey Gene- great minds...I just posted 2 min after you...LOL
ReplyDeleteI'll delete mine.
Blackberry comments whoa! impressive. You and Beagle are hampered this week.
I am also miffed about the pit thing too, Kristen.
ReplyDeleteOk anyone else completely OFFENDED by the fact Phil Parsons is reporting for TNT on PIT ROAD. The dude has cars in this race - well sort of - for at least the first 20 laps anyway. If that is not a conflict in interest I have no idea what is.
ReplyDeleteHey Tez - I moved the comment here...LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm doing my anti-rain dance but it looks pretty dark out there.
ReplyDeleteklvalus, you gotta Miller light going?
ReplyDeleteWay to early to be drinking Dwindy! Plus I dont drink that swill - only in VL!
ReplyDeleteRaindrops keep falling on my head...sigh
ReplyDeleteRusty works some races with his cars in them. Worse than Phil, to me.
ReplyDeleteOkay, if they pit until this cloud blows over will they be allowed to top off their tanks or?
ReplyDeleteNice rain dance, Dwindy! You were doing the booty dance when you should have been doing the Running Man...LOL
ReplyDeleteGene; Rusty doesn't prowl pitlane asking the CC's why their car ain't working, he's tucked away in the booth, same with Brad Daugherty.
ReplyDeleteOh oh... Klvalus, there's your dude! Ahem, our dude! BTW, how come we're tied for dead last?
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY Tez - Rusty is in the booth giving his "opinions" not actually out on pit road gathering info from other teams. Its totally different in my mind.
ReplyDeleteWhat if it were Rick Hendrick going up to Addington asking what his fuel mileage is for late in the race?
You could make argument Parsons cars aren't competitive but I wouldnt want to be telling anything to him if I were the other teams.
They may not be on pit lane, but I have heard them both ask questions to drivers during the races. And Rusty's #1 driver could certainly benefit from ANY info.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Phil will get some tips from the CCs on when to start and when to park? lol
Kurt getting a lot of play on TV these days...
ReplyDeleteDunno, we will have to ask Tez - Helio must have been wrecked out of the IRL race. Who did you have for the second race?
I think Brad is a better argument than Rusty - Brad has Marcos but Rusty has no current driver in Cup at least.
ReplyDeleteI'm against it because there has to be better pit reporters than Parsons. Wendy V, or anybody from the Truck series... except for Phil and Mikey.
ReplyDeleteI needed Will Power... Oh well. Concrete Carl held up his end of the bargain though.
ReplyDeleteYou guys quit pickin' on those poor mistreated (and misinformed?) announcers.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know, they just don't stack up to DW and Digger, but what are ya gonna do, Gene...
yes, Helio crashed out last night. He and Mario Moraes tangled when Mario's spotter appeared to not tell him quick enough that Helio was looking outside.
ReplyDeleteScary fire in the IRL race last night. The rescue crew was pathetic! They usually are the best in the world, but last night they looked like the Keyston Kops!
ReplyDeleteSwitching back and forth between IRL and NNS last night, and the IRL was waaaayyy more entertaining!
and Power needed a splash and go at the end since he pitted some 10 laps earlier than expected.
ReplyDeleteSomeone give me a short list of the start n' park drivers. I may swap Denny for one of them before the green flag! LOL
ReplyDeleteOMG - 2+ hours to dry...I am going to take a break! Hope to catch you guys later...
ReplyDeleteI concur, Gene, the Indycar race was more exciting....looks like the oval package still works since it was like a mini-Daytona with all the drafting and side-by-side racing.
ReplyDeleteTez... the first couple of replays, it looked like Moraes' car got airborne. Then the replay from head on, you could see it didn't. Did it seem like he jumped to you at first?
ReplyDeleteGene, the IndyCar race was interesting. Your girl finished 2nd...
ReplyDeleteHaha. Her highest finish ever! Last night was the first time I saw footage of her alleged 'win' in Japan.
ReplyDeletegood battle for the lead between the jet dryers and they go to break, what's up with THAT?!
ReplyDeleteA win is a win...
ReplyDeleteHave they said anything about what's coming behind this cell? Another storm, or a twister?
not really, Gene....I thought he just moved up a touch and Helio got into the wall before hitting Mario, kinda like the Kyle/Denny deal in the All-Star race only Helio was at his back wheels *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteGotta say that Young Gun commercial with Kyle and Ryan with mullets is hilarious!!
ReplyDeleteBurton was pretty funny in his interview saying he had Gordon there on the pace laps.
Ok back to chores...will be around.
Oh, so Tez did Danica finish 2nd cuz all the best racers crashes yesterday?
Joey looks like he's getting younger. Must be his diet...
ReplyDeleteSPEED BEAGLE....here's a free site with the race on live.....
ReplyDeletehttp://www.justin.tv/slapnut_v10
Plenty of other sports on justin.tv
Kristen; no, actually, Danica had the 2nd best car out there. In the first stint, she had the best car and was chasing the leaders down but Ryan improved his car enough over the race to have the best car from about halfway on.
ReplyDeleteGene; you have more channel options on that nascarfanz site than JTV now...NASCAR doesn't like JTV, lol
ReplyDeletewow, the track looks dry already...go the wind!
ReplyDeleteTez... that's what I thought of also... Kyle and Denny. The guy never touched Helio, and the brake pedal was right there for Helio, and Kyle, to use.
ReplyDeleteYa are what ya eat Harvick!
ReplyDeleteHey Dwindy I had Turkey Burgers yesterday! What are you sayin??
ReplyDeleteRead between the lines! The only way to eat Turkey (beyond Thanksgiving) is Turkey Tacos! LOL
ReplyDeleteGooble gooble...!
ReplyDeleteHaving chicken legs tonight...oy! what does that say about me!?
NIIICE line by Bowyer and the bridesmaid!! LOL
Track drying up nicely...
I'll bet the humidity is really up there now. Here on the gulf coast it must be 90% right now... Wonderful. One of these days I'm movin' to the desert.
ReplyDeleteChat with y'all a little later.
Turkey kabobs, turkey soup, turkey jerkey, roast turkey, turkey sausage, smoked turkey, turkey bacon, turkey sandwich...
ReplyDeleteLOL - Hey CR...turkey jerky is what I think Dwindy was talking about!
ReplyDeleteLOL- No doubt about it K!
ReplyDeleteHey everyone! Looks like the race will start w/in the next 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteHola (lol) Jon!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sorry group of announcers...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the MW loot Jon.
ReplyDeleteNo problem CR! As for the announcers, must be the rain delay!
ReplyDeleteIf NASCAR quits dickering around, we'll have a race!
ReplyDeleteHere we go again! Patching the track during the race! WTF!
ReplyDeleteI suppose it hasn't rained there since the last race? No one noticed that hole weeping until race day?
Can I change to Denny before the green flag?
ReplyDeleteCR, Tez, and Jon... I've cut way back on MW and hope to give it up cold turkey. I'll try and give all my NASCAR buds all my good weapons and stuff.
ReplyDeleteAthens has changed her Cup pick to Denny Hamlin. Check the Trifecta.
ReplyDeletewhat the heck is MW?? Why are you all cutting back on Mikey Waltrip? LOL
ReplyDeleteWoot cars on the track!
I'll switch my pick to Tony Stewart.
ReplyDeleteMafia Wars...facebook game, Kristen :P
ReplyDeleteLOL @ K... Good luck with your rehab Gene!
ReplyDeleteHaha....Now Kris knows what's up when one of her patients says that he's addicted to MW. Before she may have told him to stop watching Speed TV...LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteKahne looking strong early.
Most my clients are W.O.W addicts - lots of Silicon Vally geeks around!
ReplyDeleteKurt sliding back - dang too bad I cant get his radio today for some reason - I am sure it will be entertaining!
Dale Jr. is sliding back as well.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad now, Han. Take Denny back and I'll keep Tony. It was a knee-jerk decision and I wasn't thinking about your pick.:)
ReplyDeleteThis is one track where you can really see the yaw on these cars, crabbin it down the straightaway!
ReplyDeleteI think I was too late to switch drivers anyway.
ReplyDeleteAnd we have a winner in the Start and Park Sweepstakes: Start and Park Joe Nemechek!!! It's taken him all of 13 laps to park and declare himself done for the day.
ReplyDeleteOK, I'll bite... what's W.O.W.? World of War?
ReplyDeleteAs far as MW, I'm in the denial fase. LOL
Hey! It's not the end of the race... Competition Caution??? That means there's no GWC at Pocono?
ReplyDeletewoo Kurt is pissed! I finally got the radio. "pushing its brains out" - problem all weekend.
ReplyDeletewe definitely picked the wrong driver Dwindy! LOL thank god I have Hamlin for the fantasy league
World of Warcraft...good guess CR!
ReplyDeleteI think we are going to lose Kurts radio due to profanity soon.
Kenseth and Biffle took two tires--it'll be interesting to see if this works.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT COMMERICAL!
ReplyDeleteI got bangs and Newman getting his nails done...too funny.
Yea, that's what I was thinking K. There was a good South Park episode on WOW. Oh, and I meant PHASE! lol
ReplyDeleteValve stem cap missing on the RF - pulling Kurt back to the pits. He just went off on a tirade of Fbombs!!
ReplyDeleteMullet Nation, population, us. LOL Great commercial.
ReplyDeleteGeat drafting work with Turkey Jerkey on Burton. LOL, Kevin is still one of my favs.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like two tires is NOT the way to go, as Kenseth is going backwards.
ReplyDeleteI thought Jr Nation WAS Mullet Nation?
ReplyDeleteI thought NASCAR Nation was?
ReplyDeleteI have a reverse mullet...so cant be Jr Nation
Sorry to hear about your laptop, Gene. Was it insured by Lloyd's of London?lol
ReplyDeleteHarvick seems to be better on the long runs, as are his teammates Burton and Bowyer.
ReplyDeleteReverse mullet? I heard people do those to cover forehead tats!
ReplyDeletehearing from Kurts radio that tires are an issue - RF showing cords on everyone - saying cuz track is green but could be a problem.
ReplyDeleteYea, I got a big red 8 on my forehead Dwindy, didnt ya know?!?! LOL
ReplyDeleteBowyer's reeling in KB...
ReplyDeleteJust put a ONE in front of the EIGHT and you won't have to cover it up anymore!
ReplyDeleteYea not good Jon...he is dangerously close to going on another radio tirade. Should be fun!
ReplyDeleteOops you meant Kyle, they are reeling in lapped cars too!
ReplyDeleteGot the TV feed on the computer. Thanks, Tez for the link.
ReplyDeleteKristen, love it when KB goes on a rant!
ReplyDeleteYou can watch it on KBnation.com too SB!
ReplyDeleteWe will keep you in the loop somehow...
KB's got a mirrorfull of Bowyer! And Bowyer just took the lead!
ReplyDeleteKurt is short pitting...along with the 00
ReplyDeleteK- at least you don't have a big red 666 on your forehead, like Kyle has behind his left ear. (just a rummor I started today) LOL
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI recanted, SB. I wasn't thinking. Han has Denny. Sorry about that.
ReplyDeletewell seems like everyone is pitting so guess not short pit now
ReplyDeleteLMAO CR! I'll look for it at Sonoma...
ReplyDeleteKlvalus, I went through the sets to sign up on Kurt's site, got to the radio and I guess he bombed himself off the air!
ReplyDeleteno worries, SB :)
ReplyDeleteRadio still working Dwindy - just spotty now since he made all the adjustments and is not in traffic. Keep it on - you'll hear it!
ReplyDeletelol- Looks like the young guns wen't to NoCal too!
ReplyDeleteYea, how come Gene didnt tell us he was playing cards with Kasey, Denny and Carl??
ReplyDeleteKristen, better hope a caution comes out--Kurt's about to go a lap down.
ReplyDeleteYes, I see that...boo!
ReplyDeleteI also see Dwindy logged into KBNation! LOL
ReplyDeleteBowyer's about to put Ragan a lap down.
ReplyDeleteRagan has had a crap season...maybe Melissa can get him on the right track at Sonoma.
ReplyDeleteKristen, maybe she'll do the same to Edwards. And wasn't it a couple of years ago he nearly made the Chase?
ReplyDeleteBy he, I mean Ragan.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of Melissa, I wonder if she ever downloaded her camera card from Monterey? I bet she got some cool pics.
ReplyDeleteyes, Ragan was on fire late in 2008, Jon
ReplyDeletetaking a nap now. all the excitement I can handle.lol
ReplyDeleteYeah, this is typical Pocono--a snoozefest.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the pit stall in front of Harvick's--it was that of a start and park team. It's going to be HUGE late in the race.
ReplyDeleteAnother speeding ticket for JPM...
ReplyDeleteJPM was busted for speeding on pit road.
ReplyDeletejon- I have two words regarding Carl getting back on track
ReplyDeleteVOODOO DUCK
Yep, our Trooper Taylor popped him!
ReplyDeleteSB, NO WAY?
ReplyDeleteDuh, I saw that after I posted my previous comment!
ReplyDeleteAnother Penske pit road mistake...not good day today
ReplyDeleteKenseth's about to go a lap down.
ReplyDeleteCarl has to personally apologize to Katie for trash talking about her Tony before she'll relinquish her voodoo duck.
ReplyDeleteWell, here's my fantasy picks;
ReplyDeleteDenny
Burton
Newman
Hornish
uh, do I have to personally apologize to Katie for trash talking too? =)
ReplyDeleteI've got Denny, Clint, Joey and Sam
ReplyDeleteWooHoo Kristen! 2 front runners. You're looking good!
ReplyDeleteKristen- no, Tony took care of that himself at the Daytona 500 in 2007. He and Kurt can deny all they want, but there's one picture of Kurt after the hauler meeting where you can see the blend line of the makeup.
ReplyDeletethere ya go Dwindy! Fbombs have started...
ReplyDeleteLOL SB - I am sure I told you guys about when I finally got Jr's autograph the 1st time - I came back to #2 hauler shaking and crew asked if Tony had punched me...LMAO!!
ReplyDeleteI'm listening to Juan...swapping to Kurt, lol
ReplyDeleteOK friends, I'm recording the rest of the race. I'm going outside, mow the lawn, tend the garden, and just be useful. lol Have a great week, and catch ya later! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat phantom caution for debris strikes again!
ReplyDeletehave a good afternoon, CR :)
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO! Harvick in the lead!!!
ReplyDeleteJon's YELL just woke me up!LOL
ReplyDeleteRCR very impressive today...
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't TNT (and Fox and ESPN/ABC for that matter) do the split screen during commercials like the Indy 500?
ReplyDeleteF1 use it too, Jon.
ReplyDeletejon- as I understand it, Indy Car pays ABC to broadcast the races, so ABC can dictate how the coverage is presented.
ReplyDeleteI gotta run and do some errands - hope to be back in time for end - if not have great rest of your Sunday everyone!
ReplyDeletebye Kristen!
ReplyDeleteTez, it just makes sense to do the split screen.
ReplyDeleteSB, since Indy is the biggest event on the Indy Car schedule, that's probably why they go split screen.
Later Kristen!
ReplyDeleteI'm gone again.lol
ReplyDeletesomeone will top off and gamble....Carl probably.
ReplyDeleteSmoke and Big Daddy, thank you for listening to me, lol
ReplyDeleteTez, you were right--Carl did top off, along with several others towards the back.
ReplyDeleteCaution for Jamie Mac going into the wall, courtesy of David Ragan.
ReplyDeleteWhat's UP, Lugnuts!!!
ReplyDeleteThe ones that topped off took themselves out of the race.
ReplyDeleteEveryone here will be very happy to know that I'm currently in first place in my Yahoo NASCAR fantasy league.
ReplyDeleteAnd I owe it all to you!
Not much Chris, what's up with you?
ReplyDeletemaybe not, Jon...everyone in front of them pitted.
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna get mighty interesting!
ReplyDeleteTez, I think you're right--they stayed out.
ReplyDeleteBut Hamlin, Busch, and Harvick are stout and I see those three moving to the front quickly.
ReplyDeleteHow did Tony get to 3rd and Denny go to 16th?
ReplyDeleteChris, how many other people are playing?LOL
There was a caution with 41 laps to go and Tony topped off. Then there was another caution immediately after the restart and the guys in front had to pit. Tony stayed out.
ReplyDeleteLooking to be a good points day for the Beagle.
ReplyDeleteJon... quite a few actually. I just go with the hottest driver and voila!
ReplyDeleteI have a new caption contest celebrating the kiss that was Dustin Hoffman and Jason Bateman over at the Chump.
Have at it.
http://sportschump.net/2010/06/06/caption-contest-celebrates-dustin-hoffman-jason-bateman-and-the-kiss-that-sent-shockwaves-through-the-nba-finals/3857/
How close could that be? Where's Han?lol
ReplyDeleteChris, I'll be sure to check it out!
ReplyDeleteOff to do my GBU. Later everyone!
It ain't over yet, JON!
ReplyDeleteBOOOOO, KEVIN!
ReplyDeleteHow can Kyle say it was uncalled for and then turn around and say they were after the same spot? UHHHH!
ReplyDeleteBeverly, I think it was entirely of Joey's doing. He tried to cut in front of Kevin and he hadn't cleared him. Kevin would have given him room early in the race and given him the position. But with two laps to go, no way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a crash on the backstretch! Kahne nearly went out of the racetrack!
ReplyDeleteNOW I'm off to do my GBU. Later everyone!
ReplyDeleteI'll just keep my thoughts to myself!lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great week everybody!♥
Kevin not at fault. Held his line with 2 laps to go. AJ, that's another story. Looked like blocking to me.
ReplyDelete
