This week brings us another build your own with races from all three NASCAR top series and Formula 1.
This week also offers another opportunity for Hanny to capture the elusive "Kylefecta." (Sorry Jon, Kevin is not going for the "Kevfecta.")
On to the races:
1.) The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race from Dover, Friday May 14; green flag drops at 5:03pm ET (entry list)
2.) The NASCAR Nationwide race from Dover, Saturday May 15; green flag drops at 2:45pm ET (entry list)
3.) The Formula 1 Grand Prix of Monaco, Sunday May 16; green flag drops at 8:00am ET (entry list)
4.) The NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Dover, Sunday May 16; green flag drops at 1:15pm ET (entry list)
A reminder that there is no penalty for changing drivers within a race. There is a 5 point penalty for changing races.
Good luck and let's go racing!!
Oh yeah, one more thing- can anybody complete the line used in this week's title?????
Love it!
ReplyDeleteGive me $20 across the board on the 18 at Dover Downs.
Didn't Shania Twain have a song called Come on Over? I think there may even be another version from way back in the 60s or 70s?
ReplyDeleteAlready had you down for the Kylefecta :o)
ReplyDeleteAs for the quote, it's a line from a movie.
Trucks- Hornaday
ReplyDeleteF-1- Alonso
Cup- Jeff Burton

ReplyDeleteI'd like to play but you all have such a lead! LOL
ReplyDelete(better shut up or they'll come lookin' for me...)
Let's see...
Truckers - Almirola!
Nationwide - Kahne
Sprint Cup - Gordon
Hold on tight! Thanks Speed Beagle!
"C'mon Dover, forget it... it's China Town."
ReplyDeleteLOL, I know Jack Nichlson's charactor was not named Dover. But, what the heck!
Welcome, Dwindy1. Just one question in the Cup race- Jeff or Robby :o)?
ReplyDeleteCR- Jack wasn't in this one.
The big FLYING J!
ReplyDeleteTruckers - HORNADAY
ReplyDeleteNationwide - JAMIE
Sprint Cup - Gordon
Athens, Jeff or Robby? LOL
ReplyDeleteTrucks--Elliott Sadler
ReplyDeleteNNW--Kevin Harvick
Cup--Kevin Harvick (he's on a roll)
I'd have the Kevfecta, but he's not in the Truck race. So I'm putting my hard-earned money on Sadler in the #2.
Man, yesterday was Thurs?? Way too busy around these parts...
ReplyDeleteTrucks - Thorn Busch
NW - Lil Gator
Cup - Elder Busch
Somehow they are all related...
Come over Red Dover, Red Dover?
since SB said I don't need to, I shall not do my JJ silliness of the last few weeks. Therefore I take no responsibility if the 48 smashes the opposition and all your glares will be pointedly ignored...you have been warned :P
ReplyDeleteTrucks - Johnny Benson
NW - the other Penske driver...Brad Keselowski
F1 - Lewis Hamilton
Gee, we need BoltBacker to revive the Name That Film blog.
ReplyDeleteNext clue- the film the line comes from is a musical.
Oh, and not too worried about JJ when the headline at FOXSports superimposed over a picture of JJ and Chad screams "Fading Fast"
ReplyDeleteHowever, it may become necessary to resume the JJ silliness in the future :o).
I'm taking the Hanny pick of Kyle for the Nationwide and Cup races....but give me Vettel to take the checkers in Monaco
ReplyDeleteIt's completely "shocking" that I haven't won the Trifecta this year.
SB - duly noted and the JJ silliness can be reinstated if required in the future ;)
ReplyDeleteThe Beagle picks:
ReplyDeleteNationwide- Joey
Cup- Mark Martin
F1- Button
CR - ROBBY GORDON!LOL
ReplyDeleteMose....Maybe if you'd start back writing, your luck would change!
DRIVER CHANGE FOR CUP RACE:
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing practice times, and qualy order, I'm dropping Burton for my old standby,
Ryan Newman.
Your next clue to complete the title line--
ReplyDeletethe movie musical was based on the Broadway musical which was based on the stage play(by one of the great playwrights of English literature) which was based on a Greek myth.
Normally, I don't post standings until after all players have completed one race, but with the outcome of the Truck race, some might be looking to swap races.
ReplyDeletePreliminary standings after Truck race:
dwindy1 1
Tez 10
CR 12
Athens 12
Hanny 16
Klv 16
jon 24
moseby and the Beagle's first race is tomorrow's Nationwide race.
Great hint, SB.
ReplyDeleteGreek myth, huh?
It has to be...Rocky Horror Picture Show
O Brother, Where art Thou?
ReplyDeleteoops, there was no stage play for my guess
ReplyDeletewell, that was a rather wild finish, lol
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was a wild one. Kyle lost for the umpteenth time when leading with 2 to go.
ReplyDeleteWhy does Mikey think it's a good thing that the 'rules' let someone win that was 2 laps down?
Why does Mikey THINK?lol
ReplyDeleteRBR continue their 100% record in qualifying as Mark Webber took the pole, from the Pole (heehee), in Monaco earlier this morning.
ReplyDeleteNext complete the line clue-
ReplyDeleteYou might overhear someone say the same thing at the Preakness this afternoon.
Once again, Denny has bumped Joey from the #20, so the Beagle will be going with the Hamster.
ReplyDeleteI've got to make another driver change. Since Alonso wrecked in final practice, and didn't join the qualifying, I'm swithcing to the pole sitter @ Monaco, Mark Webber.
ReplyDeleteSB- just in case you missed all of my changes;
CUP- NEWMAN
F1- WEBBER
CR- got it
ReplyDeleteHow about Denny Hamlin? Knocked my guy out and then Bowyer went after him!
ReplyDeleteWTG Kyle!
ReplyDeleteWith all players having completed one race the standings are:
ReplyDeletedwindy1 1
moseby 1
Tez 10
CR 12
Athens 12
SB 12
Hanny 16
Klv 16
jon 24
The Nationwide race was the second race for those listed below. Here's where you stand going in to your final race:
Athens 15
Hanny 17
Tez 17
dwindy1 28
jon 30
Klv 32
dwindy- you can sub the F1 race for the Nationwide race subject to a 5 point penalty. Your points for the Nationwide race would be erased.
I want to change to Jamie for tomorrow. My Guy picked Gordon and I don't think he'll pull it off. Sorry, Guy!
ReplyDeleteLook at MOSEBY!

ReplyDelete(FORENSIC) Jamie's wife, Susan, asked me to let everyone know that their brother-in-law is in the last stages of bone cancer & needs our prayers for him and their family.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Jamie is to see a gastrologist for his stomach.
Thanks Athens for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteJ-Dog needs to eat some American food, not that glop over there...LOL
ReplyDeletePlease drop my Truck pick and give me MASSA! in F-1.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Wow! A power move by the Copper Head Road Dude!
ReplyDeleteOkay SB... If Gene's jumpin' ship then so am I! Anything to win, baby!
ReplyDeleteIf no one has him give me Kovalainen in the Monaco Grand Prix. If he's taken then I'll take Nakajima!
Thanks alot!
With everyone completing two races:
ReplyDeletemoseby 3
Hanny 10
CR 13
Athens 15
Tez 17
dwindy1 22
jon 30
Klv 32
SB 35
Hanny's power move shaved 7 points off his total; however, it may be all in vain unless he pulls a last minute driver substitution in the Cup race. He and moseby both have Kyle in the Cup race.
don't forget to change my cup driver to Jamie McMurray, please!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Can't jump ship on Kyle again. Last time it backfired anyway.
ReplyDeleteGo Moseby!
Lap 300 - If you didn't remember to change it, it's quite alright!LOL Poor Jamie!
ReplyDeleteGo, Kyle!
Well, we almost had our first perfect Trifecta of the season as moseby joins the winner's club with two first place picks and one second place pick.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, moseby!!!
The final standings are:
moseby 4
Hanny 11
Tez 22
CR 26
dwindy1 33
jon 37
Athens 47
SB 50
Klv 51
And the answer to complete the movie line used in this week's title is(said in a thick Cockney accent) -
"C'mon Dover! Move your bloomin' arse!!!"(Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady)
Oh yeah- the Trifecta will be off next week, but we'll be back Memorial Day weekend with races in the Nationwide series, Cup, IRL, and F1.
ReplyDelete(I think the reason F1 moved the Monaco Grand Prix to this weekend is because of the Cannes Film Festival.)
Thanks Beagle! I hope someone gives you a good back rub! You know, the kind that gets your rear leg going! LOL
ReplyDeleteReally, I ran this a couple of times and know how time consuming it can be.
Congrats Moseby!
Congratulations, Moseby!!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, the Kylefecta was sooooo close this weekend!
ReplyDeleteWTG Moseby....and KYLE!
Dang nice one Moseby! =) I had no hope so no sense making the Beagle work harder flipping my picks...
ReplyDeletenice job, Moseby! I think the rest of us need to pick up our game given the spate of high numbers :o
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody! Sooner or later the blind squirrel finds an acorn.
ReplyDeleteAthens - I don't think writing would help my predicting races - LOL!
My best to Jamie, Susan and their family,I hope things turn for the better very soon.
