Greetings everyone. This is the last race of Katie's cable imposed race blackout. Next week, it is back to broadcast and a beagle glued to the television.
Some notes:
Katie wishes to remind all Carl Edwards fans that the voodoo duck only works when Carl is actually in the race car. Anything that happens outside of the race is on him.
Many people are hoping that Kyle Busch doesn't make the Chase this year- not because they dislike Kyle, but because they think it will be a more interesting final 10 races with him having nothing to lose. Your thoughts???
Let's get this one over with, so Katie can start watching races again!!!!

Hiya Katie! Go Happy!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Kyle make the Chase. Regardless of whether he makes it or not, he'll make the last 10 races quite interesting!
ReplyDeleteHiya jon.
ReplyDeleteHi guys,
ReplyDeleteChase without Kyle couldn't be any worse than last year's Chase with Kyle.
Hey Gene, that's true
ReplyDeleteLet's keep an eye out for Gonger--he's at the race sitting somewhere in turn 3
ReplyDeleteHey, Katie! Thanks for hosting even though you're driving blind.lol I hope Kyle makes the Chase and I hope he wins tonight. He's my pick for the Trifecta. Here we go!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Beverly! Glad you can make it!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I second Beverly's thanks that you're hosting Race Chat blind.
DJ started telling about the night race after the rain delay about 10 years ago. We were there!
ReplyDeleteGET TOM CRUISE OFF MY TV!
ReplyDeleteWhy is Tom Cruise on your TV?
ReplyDeleteMy fantasy team is going to take a HUGE hit. All my drivers are going backwards fast!
ReplyDeleteKatie, they showed a shot of him in Jimmie Johnson's pit. It wasn't a quick shot--they showed him for a good lap or so.
ReplyDeleteTo me, he's like that annoying house guest that doesn't realize he's worn out his welcome, but everyone else realizes it.
ReplyDeleteI thought Tom was Jeffie's boyfriend!
ReplyDeletehi all
ReplyDeleteHi RA6AN
ReplyDeletehey speedy, thanks for doing the chat thang again
ReplyDeleteSeen Gonger yet? Even if they zoomed in on him, I couldn't see him on this TV. The big screen is sitting in the dining room floor, busted!lol
ReplyDeleteHiya RA6AN!
ReplyDeleteHey, Ragan! Hold on Jimmie!
ReplyDeleteClint Bowyer already a lap down.
ReplyDeleteJJ's loose all over!
ReplyDeletehi Jon, hi Bev!
ReplyDeleteEveryone's sideways!
ReplyDeleteAs the track cools and rubber is laid on the track, it'll get some grip.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, after qualifying, when they asked Kyle about getting sideways in turn 4, he said, "GAS ON!"
ReplyDeletelol - as good as "fixing stupid," remember Jon?
oy, I almost changed my trifecta pick to kenseth. good thing I didn't.
ReplyDeleteLOL Beverly! Yep!
ReplyDeleteActually, Logano's quote about R. Gordon was CLASSIC!
ReplyDeleteI like that Joey Lugnut!
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Ragan!
ReplyDeleteOnly 5 cars on the lead lap at the end of the NW race last night. Looking at Lap by Lap and thinking we might be looking at a similar situation
ReplyDeleteWho'd have guessed that the #66 would be the (un)lucky guy to draw the short stick at the P.J. Jones Meeting Room (where the start and parkers meet before the race)?
ReplyDeleteWas the Todd Bodine meeting room unavailable this week?????
ReplyDelete29 is wiggling, too, beside of Jeff.
ReplyDeleteC'MON SAM! That's the SECOND time you brought out the caution!!!
ReplyDeleteSam's likin' that infield grass tonite!
ReplyDeleteSB, it was under renovation--in order to entice more start and parkers, it's going to have a high-def home theatre system, XM Radio, and a bushel basket full of video game systems.
ReplyDeleteIf Sam causes ONE MORE caution tonight, he's goin' under Da Bus!
ReplyDeleteHappy came in 15th and came out 14th. Good job #29 crew!
ReplyDeleteJon, what if..........Nah, couldn't happen!
ReplyDeleteBeverly, you never know! But Happy's car is getting better as the race wears on.
ReplyDeleteGo, Reed!
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't David Gilliland have a ride with a good team? If JGR expands to four teams, he'd be a good choice.
ReplyDeletejon-
ReplyDeleteThat must mean they're adding on to the Port-a-Potty. There's no way you could fit all that stuff in there otherwise.
SB, LOL!
ReplyDeleteEdwards may be done for the day.
ReplyDeletethere went my trifecta!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't you know it would be something tacky in Georgia?lol
ReplyDeleteCarl to the garage area. Not looking good.
ReplyDeleteyikes, what's with all the penis commercials?!
ReplyDeleteChecking in again. My wi-fi isn't working in the TV room.
ReplyDeleteTV coverage....not that great so far. If you're not in the top-5-10....you're not getting on TV. SB, you have not missed any Tony sightings. Jon....not many RCR sightings. RA6AN...No Davey sightings. LOL
Ragan, I'm sorry, but if Jimmie wins, CR has it and if Kyle wins, I'VE GOT IT!!!! Go, Kyle!
ReplyDelete(Is that right? I'm so bad with figures and chances.lol)
RA6AN, you mean the ED commercials?
ReplyDeleteIs it me or is there a caution every 15 laps or so?
Gene, I've seen a couple of Kevin Harvick sightings. He's been the best RCR car so far.
ReplyDeleteyeah, ED. I knew there had to be a more tactful way to say it
ReplyDeleteLOL, RAGAN, LOL!!!! If it was Speed, it's Extenze every 10 minutes!!! Probably just lasts that long, too!lol
ReplyDeletelol!
ReplyDeleteA David Stremme sighting! He's in 12th now, en route to a 31st place finish because he'll go idiot at some point in the race.
ReplyDeleteI always wanted to go to Richmond!
ReplyDeleteSure way to get on TV if you're not in the top-10....race with Junyer!
ReplyDeleteEdwards will be going back out--his oil cooler system broke when debris hit it.
ReplyDeleteso for once, there *shoulda* been an invisible debris caution.
ReplyDeleteCaution for Mad Max pounding the wall.
ReplyDeleteSee that moon? I've raised the windows and turned off the A/C to get the effect of being there!!!lol
ReplyDeleteI don't like Ray anymore. I'll let Jon tell it.lol
ReplyDeleteOk- live leaderboard has Denny jumping to 1st and Jimmie dropping to 6th. What happened??????
ReplyDeleteLOL Beverly! The homewrecker Erin Crocker initiated the affair with Ray. Ray divorced his wife to marry Erin. (Perhaps she has some dirt on him and in order to not have it exposed, he married her.)
ReplyDeleteHappy had just taken over eighth when the caution came out.
ReplyDeleteHarvick lost a TON of positions due to a HORRIBLE pit stop. This race has NO rhythm to it--caution comes out every 20 laps or so.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder it was horrible--it took NEARLY 20 seconds!
ReplyDeleteOK, girls! Does that sound a little double-standardish?lol
ReplyDeleteHe married her because he's probably going through that "mid-life crisis" thing that the Extenze commercials are made of!LOL
Happy needs a new crew in the WORST WAY. Can we borrow Matt Kenseth's crew for the race?
ReplyDeleteHappy's crew's goin' under da bus!
ReplyDeleteWhat timing, JON!!! That totally sounds like something else now!!!LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat does, Beverly? The mid-life crisis of Ray E. or Happy's crew goin' under da bus?
ReplyDeletehowdy peoples, I have internet at home again due to my techno-savvy brilliance, lol
ReplyDeleteHappy's got an AWESOME car. Too bad he has a less than stellar crew. The start and parkers crews could do better than Happy's crew!
ReplyDeleteNevermind - mind in gutter.
ReplyDeleteHey tez!
ReplyDeleteHappy's in ninth and moving up.
ReplyDeletehey tez!
ReplyDeleteTez....Techno-savvy my Dish satellite. I've been told if I'd go just with the Dish company and drop it from my phone/internet bundle, I'd save megabucks.lol
ReplyDeleteHappy's going 3 MPH faster than the leader.
ReplyDeleteHarvick in 3rd. Are we doing the happy dance yet, jon(no pun intended)?
ReplyDeleteHAPPY IN THE LEAD!!! WOOHOO!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy's very happy right now, lol
ReplyDeleteI'm doing the Happy dance, SB!
ReplyDeleteIf you weren't, you are now :o)
ReplyDeleteThat #29 car is on a rail!!
ReplyDeleteIt's the first time Harvick has led a race since Vegas, when he led nine laps.
ReplyDeleteand oh yes, very techno-savvy....I managed to hook into the desktop's internet connection with my laptop. Ordinarily a rather easy task if you have a network cable....only the desktop's CPU is shot so that option was binned.
ReplyDeleteI was rather pleased when I got it all sorted last night :P
Am I watching a repeat of the Nationwide race? Harvick is now lapping cars!
ReplyDeleteExcellent stop by the #29 crew! 14.7 seconds!
ReplyDeleteAm I reading this right???? Brian Vickers and Kevin Harvick are the only cars on the lead lap???? That's what Live Leaderboard says.
ReplyDeleteTEZ!!!!!! As I'm reading your comment, my friend (possibly boy friend to be, instant messages me from myspace) the cats get in a fight and pulls the monitor off!!!!! By the time I get it all sorted out, he's offline!!!! Two dead cats coming up!!!!
ReplyDeleteSB, that was before both Harvick and Vickers had pitted under green.
ReplyDeleteThat caution wipes out a SEVEN second lead that Harvick had built up.
ReplyDeleteJJ's car has been WICKED loose all night.
ReplyDeletetony w/ lugnut probs
ReplyDelete:(
ReplyDeletethat's fair enough, Belle, the cats will undertsand.
Tony w/ lug nut problems?????
ReplyDeleteWhere's Kristen?????
SB, I wonder if Kristen snuck into the ATL under disguise and stole the magic lug nut?
ReplyDeletec'mon Matty, go!!!
ReplyDeleteThe other guys ahead of Harvick have fallen off the pace faster than Harvick. I'm confident he'll regain the lead.
ReplyDeleteHarvick's already catching Jr.
ReplyDeleteHarvick's in third. Kahne seems like he thinks he's won the race. He's going to fall off the pace at some point faster than Harvick will.
ReplyDeleteHello all, hope you all have had a great happy labor day, Is that the 88 car a lap down up with the leaders?lol
ReplyDeleteKahne's lead is in jeopardy.
ReplyDeleteI think I've woken up after that brilliant restart from Kasey, that was a power move!
ReplyDeleteHey F2, having a great time watching Happy leading the race.
ReplyDeleteTez, Kasey's fallen off. Happy's now in the lead. See ya Kasey!
ReplyDeletedon't worry, jon, your favourite driver, Stremme, is yet to crash into Kevin tonight so he has a few laps to do that yet ;)
ReplyDeleteTez, LMAO!
ReplyDeleteactually, Stremme has been strangley quiet and quick...he must be sulking over Brad getting his car next year and out to prove he's not so bad a driver, lol
ReplyDeleteTez, you have a good point there!
ReplyDeleteLook who Happy put a lap down: Tony Stewart!
Hey F2!!! You have a great one, too!!! Junyer in 7th!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah Jon, Happy looks like the one to beat now at this point of the race. 29,9,42,11, and maybe the 88. What gets me is that NASCAR SHOULD HAVE GAVE THEM A NIGHT TO PRATICES ON. We might have had a even better race if teams had a chance to see how they where at night.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching JPM out of the corner of my eye--I think he could have something for Happy at the end of the race.
ReplyDeleteF2, you're right about NASCAR should have allowed the teams to have one practice at night. I think a few other teams would be better than they are now. But my real surprise is Robby Gordon being in the top 10.
ReplyDeleteFOX leaderboard says JPM passed Kasey for 2nd.
ReplyDeleteAs of lap 244, Harvick has a 4+ second lead over Kahne.
ReplyDeleteCaution for Kurt Busch having contact with Reed Sorenson.
ReplyDeleteNOT REED'S FAULT!lol
ReplyDeleteOh no poor Reed was having another great run for the 43.
ReplyDeleteThat wipes out Harvick's 4 second lead.
ReplyDeleteCruise in the pitbox is bad luck
ReplyDeleteAnother BAD pit stop for Harvick.
ReplyDeleteJJ has issues with his left rear axle. It broke.
If it stays green the rest of the race, I think Harvick wins. He's the best car on long runs.
ReplyDeletetemper temper Kurt,, Now is in the danger zone for next weeks race looks like we will have 9 or 10 cars fighting to make the chase..
ReplyDeleteNow Vickers has axle problems. He somehow stays on the lead lap.
ReplyDeleteand that's Jimmie's one bobble in the last third of the season....just give him the trophy now then, lol
ReplyDeleteIf he has the right set of tires on, it seems every team has has one bad set of tires so far.
ReplyDeletejon; the leaders' pit crew should get dumped by the bus this week...first Truex, then Kahne and now Harvick, sheesh.
ReplyDeleteLook at Matt Kenseth coming on!
ReplyDeleteTez, you got that right!
ReplyDeleteAt least Dale Jr is helping my fantasy team somewhat!
ReplyDeleteJuan around Kevin for 2nd....could Columbia be celebrating tonight?
ReplyDeleteJPM is running a lot better than I expected. This is a HUGE run for him, as the guys around him are having issues.
ReplyDeleteKahne tends to fall off on the long runs.
ReplyDeleteOk since I can't watch the race, I'm watching the Jerry Lewis telethon. Comedian George Wallace commenting on commercials-
ReplyDeleteUPS- their slogan is "What can brown do for you?" I'll tell you what brown can do for me- run this over to FedEx.
As of lap 263, Harvick is battling a loose car. He says it's the worst it's been all night.
ReplyDeleteif it's a long run, it'll be between Juan and Kevin....short run, I don't think either of them have anything for Kasey.
ReplyDeletedon't forget DHL, SB ;)
ReplyDeleteSB, LOL
ReplyDeletekurt just hurt my fantasy,, got Jr,Tony, and Vickers.lol
ReplyDeleteCaution. What we needed!
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on here? I"m seeing names in the top 15 that shouldn't be there- David Stremme, Paul Menard, Robby Gordon.
ReplyDeleteI've got Dale Jr, Newman, Biffle, and Ambrose.
ReplyDeleteSB, there's nothing real in the world anymore!
ReplyDeletenice move by boyer
ReplyDeleteone out of 4 ain't bad, jon
ReplyDeleteHarvick gains a spot on the pits. Bobby Labonte is in the top 10 now.
ReplyDeleteTez, Dale Jr is singlehandedly salvaging my fantasy team this week!
ReplyDeletehmm, Kasey's crew have suddenly become good....his CC must have taken them all behind the shed and beaten them up, lol
ReplyDeleteFORENSICS,
ReplyDeleteGLAD TO SEE THTA SOMEONE ELSE IS QUESTIONING THE NO NIGHT PRACTICE FOR THIS RACE, DO YOU AGREE THAT THAT SHOULD BE A NOT ON THIS WEEKS HOT OR NOT
GUNAQUAT
I'm more nervous about JPM than I am about Kahne. Kahne tails off big time in the long runs, and JPM doesn't.
ReplyDeleteDon,t for get Mark Martin has been getting better as well,
ReplyDeleteSpeedy, how come you can't watch the race??
hey, the biff moved up to 12th
ReplyDeleteIf Bobby Labonte finishes in the top 10, he's getting a Good!
ReplyDeleteI went with 2 Jr's (Dale and Sam), Juan and Ryan.
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo.....Georgia Bulldog folks sponsoring Bobby!!!
ReplyDeleteIt concerns me when I see names in the top 15 that don't belong there. The three mentioned earlier haven't hit anything, yet, and with the race winding down, it's just a matter of time. And you know they won't be content with just hitting each other.
ReplyDeleteand there's Stremme giving Bobby fans kittens
ReplyDeleteJPM in the lead now.
ReplyDeleteGunner, Yes for sure, I know nascar will say it was fair for all teams having to deal with it,, but why not let them get the cars to be able to fly around the track instead of slidding around,, We do see who can drive or hang on to a loose car.lol
ReplyDeleteI bet Moseby is going nuts over Bobby doing so well!lol
ReplyDeletewhat on Earth happened to Kevin?
ReplyDeleteF2-
ReplyDeleteWe don't have cable or a dish, so if it's not on the regular networks, we're in the dark.
Kevin's much better on long runs--the last few runs have been short due to cautions.
ReplyDeletewell Tez, your 4 are still out on the track and one fighting for the win. good luck..
ReplyDeleteand, more importantly, how the heck did Ambrose get back on the lead lap? He's been nowhere all night, lol
ReplyDeleteHappy in fifth and moving up
ReplyDeleteHappy working on Hamlin for fourth
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Speedy, Maybe we can get one of the gang to put there web cam tords the tv and you can watch it that way,, I watch the Daytona 500 the first year I was here by my mom doing it for me.lol
ReplyDeleteI would if the computer was in the same room as tv..
Happy in fourth
ReplyDeleteHey Jon, Happy must sleep with a blck cat under his bed evrynight before the race with his bad luck,, now over heating...
ReplyDeleteHarvick in third, just over 2 seconds behind JPM. He's reeling in JPM.
ReplyDeleteNow Happy's overtaken Kahne for second!
ReplyDeletewhat are the odds on a phantom debris caution?
ReplyDeleteSHUT UP RAY!
ReplyDeleteShut up tez, LOL!
ReplyDeleteHappy is reeling in JPM slowly but surely!
ReplyDeletewho wants to bet post-race coverage will be cut short again?
ReplyDeleteHappy back in the lead!!
ReplyDeleteRA6AN, I wouldn't bet against it!
ReplyDeletenice save for David!
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain, jon....cautions cost Ambrose the Montreal race after all.
ReplyDeleteLook who Happy's lapping: Kyle Busch!!
ReplyDeleteI heard jon from here.
ReplyDeleteFREAKING CAUTION!!!
ReplyDeleteThat shouldn't be a caution! Bowyer had it under control!!
ReplyDelete....and the conspiracy theorists have just penned their articles about Clint paying Kevin back for Bristol.
ReplyDeletejon, i was thinking the same thing. Why caution?
ReplyDeleteGunner, another bad for NASCAR is yellows flags for cars spinnng out and not hitting anything or droping anything on the track, Johnson and now Clint.lol
ReplyDeleteHarvick back out in first!
ReplyDeletethis will be a crucial restart...is that the understatement of the night?
ReplyDeleteC'MON HAPPY!!!
ReplyDeletepart of me wanted to see Carl win tonight just to see how he'd do his backflip :P
ReplyDelete
