Watkins Glen Race Chat

I'll get us started today and hopefully be around to finish! ESPN has the pre-race on and so far they are not talkin' about rain but on Twitter Harvick and Mikey have both said rain is about 60 miles out. Looks like we will start the race but get interrupted...

What to watch for today...

** Strategy strategy strategy!!
** Backwards pitting!
** His name is JUAN! and Oi, Oi Ambrose are both hot...
** Will the ringers play a role...ever?
** Will the Joey/Robby playground spat continue?
** Will payback be had from the Sonoma road course incident(s)?
** Who will get the date with Vicky?!?!

Seems like folks have been scarce around here lately. Hope your all out having fun!

    There it is...the first mention of the rain on the broadcast. Passing thru supposedly but will likely hit right at race start time.

    I am all for Ambrose too, vol. I think he has a great shot to win today. I am just worried they need a good pit strategy cuz the rain will play a factor and that is where JJ has the edge.

    Course Kurt has a great shot today too! My other boy, not so much =( Poor Jr! At least he is back there with Cousin Carl

    I AGREE ABOUT JR. HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF SKIPPING THE RACE AND LOOKING AHEAD FOR NEXT WEEK. STILL LOVE THAT KID, BUT GUESS HAVE TO BE REAL, STILL HAS A BUNCH TO TRUN AROUND.

    Katie is taking ideas for a "Make the rain go away" voodoo object. We all know about the power of the voodoo duck. There are a few specifics, though. The object must be specific to the race track on race weekend(we live in the middle of cotton country, and our farmers need the rain)

    HOW ABOUT A COTTON FILLED RAIN BARREL, MOST OF ALL OF THOSE THINGS WERE OLD BEER BARRELS AND BEER IS SPECIFIC TO ALL THE TRACKS SO FAR AS I KNOW. YOU KNOW BROWN MAERIAL SEWED UP TO LOOK LIKE A SQEAK TOY.

    Like it does me any good. I don't get to watch races until they go back to Richmond. The worst criminal in Texas can watch cable tv, but decent law abiding citizens can't. Thank you very much Justice Justus(oxymoron- emphasis on the MORON).

    We've been thiking about a rain cloud shaped fleece toy stuffed with checkered flag fabric for the voodoo object.

    That sounds like a good one SB. I hear your frustration!! I spent extra to get the races on cable here but at least SPEED channel got thrown in.
