I'll get us started today and hopefully be around to finish! ESPN has the pre-race on and so far they are not talkin' about rain but on Twitter Harvick and Mikey have both said rain is about 60 miles out. Looks like we will start the race but get interrupted...
What to watch for today...
** Strategy strategy strategy!!
** Backwards pitting!
** His name is JUAN! and Oi, Oi Ambrose are both hot...
** Will the ringers play a role...ever?
** Will the Joey/Robby playground spat continue?
** Will payback be had from the Sonoma road course incident(s)?
** Who will get the date with Vicky?!?!
Seems like folks have been scarce around here lately. Hope your all out having fun!
Enjoy the race today.

There it is...the first mention of the rain on the broadcast. Passing thru supposedly but will likely hit right at race start time.
ReplyDeleteI'm here finally. Do I count?LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm all for Ambrose today! I love the man.
ReplyDeleteOh my vol, of course!! You count double!! LOL
ReplyDeleteHow have you been?
I am all for Ambrose too, vol. I think he has a great shot to win today. I am just worried they need a good pit strategy cuz the rain will play a factor and that is where JJ has the edge.
ReplyDeleteCourse Kurt has a great shot today too! My other boy, not so much =( Poor Jr! At least he is back there with Cousin Carl
If it is a rain shortened race, then Mikey will have a chance. Go Mikey!
ReplyDeleteOy...delayed start...they are coming out of the cars and covering.
ReplyDeleteAnother LONG day I think. Are we taking bets on a Sunday or Monday finish??
Hey Photo! I think Mikey has a chance...although just because Patrick is driving his car!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteMikey is on twitter today and put up a picture of PC's name on his car and said it was "weird"...he is funny.
HEY GUYS,
ReplyDeleteI MADE IT AT LAST FOR AWHILE, BY THE WAY I MISREAD THE LINEUP AND RATHER THEN BEING STUCK WITH MAX PAPIS, I AM STUCK WITH TONY STEWART, OH WHOO IS ME, LOL LOL HE HE HE
Hey GUNNY! You are funny Gunny -- while I wouldnt mind Papis, you definitely got lucky in your miss count getting Smoke!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like we will be waiting for awhile...
YES I DID,
ReplyDeleteWE REALLY NEED SOMEONE TO DO AN UNRAIN DANCE RIGHT NOW, I CAN'T HANDLE ANOTHER MONDAY RACE.
GUESS MAYBE I HAVE TIME FOR LUNCH OR MAYBE A NAP.
Trust me GUNNY dancing wont help at this point! LOL
ReplyDeleteI had hubby out of the house for the AM, early afternoon too...oh well...
That was cute on Ambrose - learned something.
Fair dinken!
I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE MARCUS WIN TODAY, AT LEAST THAT WOULD MEAN WE GOT TO RUN THE RACE
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is pulling for the Aussie today.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...guess I best poke around for some lunch.
Hey, People!
ReplyDeleteIt's 93 degrees here. I'm in the pool!
Go, JR!
NO FAIR BEV,
ReplyDeleteIT'S 92 HERE, AND I AIN'T GOT NO POOL, SO YOU HAVE TO GET OUT. IF WE DON'T ALL HAVE POOLS THE NO ONE CAN USE THEIRS.
LOL
Hey Bev --
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the pool...only in the low 80s here. I dunno about Jr today - starting well back and he hates road courses.
KRIS,
ReplyDeleteI AGREE ABOUT JR. HE MIGHT HAVE BEEN BETTER OFF SKIPPING THE RACE AND LOOKING AHEAD FOR NEXT WEEK. STILL LOVE THAT KID, BUT GUESS HAVE TO BE REAL, STILL HAS A BUNCH TO TRUN AROUND.
Katie is taking ideas for a "Make the rain go away" voodoo object. We all know about the power of the voodoo duck. There are a few specifics, though. The object must be specific to the race track on race weekend(we live in the middle of cotton country, and our farmers need the rain)
ReplyDeleteBEAGLE,
ReplyDeleteHOW ABOUT A COTTON FILLED RAIN BARREL, MOST OF ALL OF THOSE THINGS WERE OLD BEER BARRELS AND BEER IS SPECIFIC TO ALL THE TRACKS SO FAR AS I KNOW. YOU KNOW BROWN MAERIAL SEWED UP TO LOOK LIKE A SQEAK TOY.
GUNAQUAT
Hey SpeedBeagle!
ReplyDeleteFunny how you show up right when Smoke comes on the TV.
No idea on the voodoo object..will have to think on that.
Oh these rain delays are killing me. Got some of my baking done at least!
Like it does me any good. I don't get to watch races until they go back to Richmond. The worst criminal in Texas can watch cable tv, but decent law abiding citizens can't. Thank you very much Justice Justus(oxymoron- emphasis on the MORON).
ReplyDeleteWe've been thiking about a rain cloud shaped fleece toy stuffed with checkered flag fabric for the voodoo object.
Hey everyone. NASCAR called the race. It's going to start at noon EDT. It's still raining.
ReplyDeletespeed good idea or the rain barrel thing with the checked flag stuff is really cool
ReplyDeleteNoon EDT tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good one SB. I hear your frustration!! I spent extra to get the races on cable here but at least SPEED channel got thrown in.
ReplyDelete**RACE CALLED**
Noon tomorrow on ESPN...another crappy Monday race.
I may be able to chat a bit in between patients. Have a good rest of your Sunday everyone!
GRRRRR@Monday races!!
ReplyDeleteSEE YA LATER GANG, DANG THIS MONDAY STUFF IS CRAP.
ReplyDeletedang it, it's not a holiday here tomorrow either so I'll have to make do with online updates only :(
ReplyDeleteHey Jon and Tez!
ReplyDeleteOk according to twitter NASCAR is in hurry up mode for intros/anthem/engines. Weather still in the area!!
Will be poppin in here in between clients I guess...
Happy Monday all!
am here.....at work.....getting updates only regardless as I don't get TSN2 at home anyway. I concur with jon and gunny; Monday races defy physics by sucking and blowing *big raspberries*
ReplyDeletehave yahoo's leaderboard up and ready :P
ReplyDeleteWOO! Kurt in the lead!! Of course, I dont have him in the fantasy league this week...doh!
ReplyDeleteMarcos sounds like he is moving up as is Junior (minor miracle)
I am just following updates on twitter...
am I the only one here?
ReplyDeletenope, there's ofi, good morning! Hope the weather in San Fran is better than Vancouver today :)
ReplyDeletecaution for....something. Knobby probably threw his water bottle out the window again, lol
ReplyDeleteboth my guys, Ambrose and Kahne, stayed out....hope it works out for them :o
ReplyDeleteHamlin and Jr (the Dale variety) get pinged for speeding while Kurt was too busy running into the back of Jimmie.
ReplyDeleteand Juan whacked one of Ragan's pit guys in the leg...hope he's ok :(
ReplyDeleteCaution...Harvick and I-hit-everyone-Stremme. Isnt it funny those two got into it after being on ESPN yesterday together during the rain delay. Doh!
ReplyDeleteDidnt hear that Kurt hit JJ...
Off to see a client so I will be gone for an hour...
=(
they're saying he got hit in the arm, not the leg now.
ReplyDeleteRace chat, the Beagle has landed.
ReplyDeletewow, big wreck apparently; Dale Jr lost his brakes and slammed into the tyre wall while Sorenson's saying he got taken out by Edwards.
ReplyDeleteand howdy, SB :)
ReplyDeletesorry, they screwed up on the race chat, meant the 88 took him out, not the 99.
ReplyDeleteYay!!!! Tony in the lead!!!!
ReplyDeleteStremme leads! Now we just wait for the phone call from the devil asking for help to defrost his home.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Rumor on twitter is Chris didnt get the #2 full of fuel...hard to say when I didnt see the stop!
ReplyDeletePoor Junior! sigh.
Yay! Tony not in the lead!! LOL (HI SB!)
Off to see another client!!
another big crash; Hornish and Jeff G....ESPN missed it as usual they say on the chat, lol
ReplyDeleteLOL tez!
ReplyDeletethey're saying Kahne getting into Sam was the trigger of it.
ReplyDeleteRed flag
ReplyDeleteWow Twitter is atwitter about that hard wreck. Kasey drove Sam right off the track apparently and into the barrier. Hard hits for 77, 24 and 31. Sam and JG out of cars and ok but that cant be good for Gordons back...
ReplyDeleteClient is late...
red flag out now
ReplyDeletemore details; Kahne and Sam were side-by-side, Kahne got loose, hit Sam and presto, instant red flag.
ReplyDeletecars are back rolling now....from what I hear, the top 5 is Speed, Kyle, Stewart, Ambrose and Biffle. Speed has yet to stop for the last time however.
ReplyDeleteSmoke v. Aussie!! OI OI OI!!
ReplyDeleteI have them both on my fantasy team so all is good.
Onto another client! This will be over by the time I am done.
Heard JJ and Kurt were racing near each other.
Tony and Marcos are trading fastest laps with 11 to go and the gap is 1.4 seconds....fuel may or may not be an issue depending on who you talk to, lol
ReplyDeleteCarl up to 3rd as he passes Kyle
ReplyDelete1.1 seconds with 5 to go
ReplyDeleteand it's Tony's....nice job, those 10 more bonus points will come in handy in about a month, lol
ReplyDeleteAmbrose gets his career best Cup result by finishing 2nd, Edwards 3rd, Kyle 4th and Biffle 5th.
UGH...sounds like I need to see the wrecks but not the finish!
ReplyDeletePlease DON"T rain!!!! on my race day!!!! :(
ReplyDelete
