GREETINGS FROM SW WEST OKLAHOMA:
RIGHT NOW NASCAR.COM IS SHOWING ABOUT 86 AS THE TEMP. AT THE RACE TRACK AND EVERYONE IS WORRIED ABOUT THE HEAT.
THEY BETTER BE GLAD THEY ARE NOT RACING AT TEXAS THIS WEEKEND, IT'S 95 HERE IN OKLAHOMA RIGHT NOW AND I AM ABOUT 200 MILES NORTH OF DALLAS, NOW FOLKS THAT IS WHERE IT IS HOT TODAY.

Hey GUNNY! Keep cool! We are only in the high 70s here but I know my parents are smokin' in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteSo I hope its ok I added to your title to make this blog the race chat for today.
Let's go racin!!
Woot! Kurt is the in race reporter for today...although really every time he has a camera on his car he usually does terrible. The crew jokes that it is bad luck for them.
ReplyDeletePlus Kurt on the radio is always exciting! LOL
Almost time for green green green!
Are you freakin kidding me - there are rain drops on the windshields!?!?
ReplyDeleteThat better be radiator water...
It could be worse. You could have the 100+ temperature AND the 200% humidity of Houston :o).
ReplyDeleteklv-
ReplyDeleteor a really large bird.
KRIS
ReplyDeleteTHAT IS FINE WITH ME, CRAP FIRST CAUTION DUE TO RAIN, YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME.
Unfreakin believable!!! 10% chance of rain and its over the track. Great, now they are going to have an hour delay drying this stupid 2 miler.
ReplyDeleteHey SB and GUNNY!
KRIS,
ReplyDeleteDID YOU HAPPEN TO READ JOHNSON'S COMMENTS ON STARTING THE RACES EARLIER TO PREVENT THIS TYPE OF THING
NASCAR.com reporting officials don't think red flag will be too lengthy
ReplyDeleteGood morning everyone! Now it's sunny at the track, which will help drying. I agree with JJ's comments about starting the races an hour earlier in the event of rain.
ReplyDeleteUN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE! Is it 1,000 weeks in a row that there's been a rain delay?
ONCE UPON A TIME YOU DIDN'T FORECAST THE WEATHER IN OKLAHOMA UNLESS YOU WERE FOOL OR FROM TEXAS, NOW IT IS BEGINNING TO LOOK LIKE IF YOU ARE SMART YOUR WON'T FORECAST WEATHER ANYWHERE. LOL LOL
ReplyDeletehave I told you lately, that I hate TSN, have I to....sorry, that song got stuck in my head for some reason, lol
ReplyDeleteI have trackpass and radio on at nascar.com and hopefully that rain won't make it 3-in-a-row for Mother Nature, lol
JON, THE REAL PROBLEM WITH DOING THAT IS IT WOULD PUT THE RACE STARTING AT ABOUT 9:00 IN THE MORNING ON THE WEST COAST, AND I CAN SEE TONS OF PROBLEMS FROM TEH NETWORKS AND THE LOCAL CHURCHES IF THAT WAS TO HAPPEN
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Gunny! You're the 100th blogger on Lug Nuts!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the prize, Kristen?lol
WOW THAT IS COOL BEV, I DON'T NEED A PRIZE I GOT ALL YOU GUYS, WHAT BETTER PRIZE COULD THERE BE
ReplyDeleteHey Tez and Jon!
ReplyDeleteJJ is dead on about starting earlier -- Us west coasters can count the prayer as our church for the AM and go to the afternoon service! LOL
Looks like the sun and hot track helped dry that thing fast...
What is TSN? Tez
I was waiting for you to announce that Bev!
ReplyDeleteWOOT 100 blogs!!!
(balloons and confetti fall upon you GUNNY!)
Gunny,
ReplyDeleteNFL games start that early on the West Coast and no one complains.
TSN is Canada's version of ESPN.
ReplyDeleteand well done, Gunny!
the big question is this; can they make it to the end on one more stop? LOL!
SPEED
ReplyDeleteIT WORKS FOR ME, SITING IN MID-AMERICA WOULDN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR ME THAT IS FOR SURE
Gunaquat, I can always tape the races while I'm at church!
ReplyDeleteSB, the pregame starts at 9 am. The actual games start at 10 am. IMO it's the best place to view NFL games. You have the late games that end at 4:15 pm. Then you can BBQ steaks before the Sunday night game!
Ummm, I only cound 96 blogs(at least that's what the blog archive shows).
ReplyDeleteAh, I assume they have a lame theme song for NASCAR, Tez.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Captain is in the house today on the radio.
Ok anyone want to take bets with me if BART is going to strike tonight and strand millions of us on commute tomorrow morning? If they strike i have to pack up and move my butt up closer to the city so I can take the ferry into work tomorrow. Its going to be a bad week if they strike...talks ongoing as we speak.
Back to green!
ReplyDeleteKristen, I think they strike.
ReplyDeleteSPPED,
ReplyDeleteWHAT YOU TRYING TO DO, TAKE AWAY MY HONOR LOL LOL.
SERIOUSLY, IT IS AN HONOR TO BEABLE TO WORK WITH AND FOR ALL YOU GUYS, YOU ALL JUST ADD THAT MUCH MORE THE THE ENJOYMENT FO WATCHING THE RACE
Gunny-
ReplyDeleteIt's the teacher in me. I have to make sure that everything is in order and correct.
Yay! Fiddler on the Roof is starting. You'll forgive me if I occasionally break into song.
Oh thanks Jon...way to make my life *really* difficult.
ReplyDeleteI think they settle at the last possible moment but I will be packing for the week anyway.
Hmmm. you appear to be right SB - I didnt bother counting - thats ok GUNNY can still have the honor!
LOL LOL LOL LOL
ReplyDeleteONE EXCUSE IS AS GOOD AS ANOTHER, DON'T LAY ANYTHING ELSE ON TEACHERS THEY CATCH ENOUGH FLAK AS IT IS NOW.
Yawn - already the HMS show up front...would be nice if ESPN showed some of the actual RACING back in the pack.
ReplyDeleteKristen, I'm hopeful that they settle and there is NO strike. Michigan is the NEW House of HMS now, unfortunately. The Blue Deuce is hanging in the top 5, so that's a good sign.
ReplyDeleteGo to your DASHBOARD and beside of the list of blogs you're following, mine says 100 posts. I didn't count either.
ReplyDeleteGO, MARK!!!
Did we remember to do the moment of silence for Tim Richmond? I wasn't home when it started. So young.
ReplyDeleteBeverly is correct! Dashboard says 100, our count on the blogs says 96...I bet there were a few that were deleted that the dashboard didnt update.
ReplyDeleteNo official moment of silence for Tim, but definitely on our minds. ESPN didnt say a word did they? I only watched Sam's interview on prerace.
THERE WAS A MOMENT OF SILENCE, BUT WAS FOR A GUY THAT WORKED AT SPRITE WHO WAS KILLED IN A CAR WRECK DIDN'T HEAR ANYTHING SAID ABOUT TIM RICHMOND
ReplyDeleteSORRY SPRINT
ReplyDeleteProblem identified=
ReplyDeleteThe dashboard includes drafts that were not published.
Caution! shockers its Robby!! LOL
ReplyDeleteKRIS
ReplyDeleteBE NICE THAT IS MY FIRST NOT, JUST ABOUT LIKE EVERY WEEK
Dang it, what happened to Kurt on that stop?!?
ReplyDeleteLOL GUNNY - he does write your Nots for ya...
ReplyDeleteIf you get an extra spot for a Not I would put NASCAR/ESPN for not recognizing the loss of Tim Richmond....
ReplyDeleteSTILL REAL EARLY BUT LOOKS LIKE NOTS MAY BE HARD TO COME BY, THEY ALL PRETTY MUCH TRYING TO KEEP THEIR NOSES CLEAN RIGHT NOW
ReplyDeleteReutimann made up a bunch of spots then....fuel only most likely
ReplyDeleteWHAT A WASTE OF FUEL, PAUL MENARD AS THE LEADER THAT IS SUCH A JOKE
ReplyDeleteOh my what a restart...cars everywhere!
ReplyDeleteJust like what its going to be like on the Bay Area freeways tomorrow with no public transport running...LOL~!
IF THEY DON'T SHUFFLE MENARD TO THE BACK QUICK HE'S GONNA CAUSE SUCH A WRECK
ReplyDeleteGreat tach problems for Kurt guaranteed speeding on pit road at some point. boo.
ReplyDeleteHAVE FAITH KRIS KURT WILL COVER THE DEAL, MIGHT BE A TINY BIT SLOWER IN AND OUT BUT BET HE DON'T GET CALLED FOR SPEEDING
ReplyDeleteJimmie is *gone*, wow
ReplyDeleteWait, wait, wait! We're going to be on the NOT list first! Gene asked US to remember Tim Richmond on his RSO during the pace lap. Let's tell him since he wasn't here on the pace lap, we decided to see if he was here at the halfway point and do it then. Think he'll go for that? lol Have I messed this up enough? Seriously, Gene, in all the excitement of the rain, they forgot cause I wasn't home yet. Forgive them.lol
ReplyDeleteBEV,
ReplyDeleteDIDN'T MESS IT UP JUST MADE IT MORE INTERESTING
I'm on the NASCAR.COM lap-by-lap with Harvick. He's complaining about going backwards, saying, "We're getting what we deserve." He and Richard Childress exchange sharp words on the radio.
ReplyDeleteChildress told Harvick to drive the ******* car.
ReplyDeleteCHILDRESS NEEDS TO SIT THAT BOY ON THE PIT BOX FOR A WEEK OR SO
ReplyDeleteRC's got a point.
ReplyDeleteBowyer in fourth and moving up!
RC sounds just like Roger last year, its what happens when teams struggle week after week...
ReplyDeleteKurt I think has bad strategy with this safe racing to get into the chase. He is in, I am sure and needs to get those bonus points now b/c once the chase starts he is going to race safe again like the rest of them.
Come on Kurt!! Get agro!!!
Hello race friends. Looks like I didn't miss much. Was visiting a relative in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteHMS show? Meh.
Hey Gene - Meh indeed. JJ/MM show so far.
ReplyDeleteWell wishes to your relative...
Hey Gene, get well wishes to your relative. You didn't miss much! I've been in and out. It's the HMS Show at MIS
ReplyDeleteThe dreaded caution for debris again!
ReplyDeleteSmoke took 2 tires and is out in first
ReplyDeleteI'll be back later, towards the end of the race.
ReplyDeletePoor Kurt. Sorry, Kristen.
ReplyDeleteCRAP!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMelissa!!!! What the heck was your driver doing?!?
Ok, maybe it was Kurt...I guess its wasnt your driver Melissa! LOL
ReplyDeleteDang it!!!
Thanks for the luv Bev.
=(
DAMN KRIS,
ReplyDeleteTHINK WE HAVE TO LAY THAT ONE AT KURT'S FEET
Hello everyone,, taking a break out of the race to say hi and whats up with them giving that award to Carl Edwards for doing nothing but keeping the gas pedal down to miss Kurt and Ra6an? lol
ReplyDeleteCheers2All
man I wish I could see the race, grrrr
ReplyDeleteKristen-
ReplyDeleteMaybe Jack is trying to send you a message about the Lug Nut :o)
Yep GUNNY - looks like it was Kurt...oh well. Funny the "in car" reporter bad luck bit him again!
ReplyDeleteHey F2! Yea, that didnt take that much skill but pretty much its been follow HMS so there hasnt been that much skill involved all day!
How bout that sneaky Travis and Sam trying to fuel 2x for later. Hehehee too bad they got caught!
Kristen, I feel for ya. Melissa, same thing.
ReplyDeleteTez - why cant you see the race?? I thought you were watching it?
ReplyDeleteSB - Maybe so but he ain't getting it!
Looks like two tires isn't the way to go.
ReplyDeleteMelissa, knock some sense into your driver!
I stand corrected. It was incidental contact between Ragan and Hornish.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with Ragan and Penske today!
ReplyDeleteSo NASCAR folks on twitter are saying rain is 10 min away...expect another red flag shortly!
Penske is out to get RA6AN! lol
ReplyDeleteGene, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell at least I get to see my crew working hard on TV a lot.
ReplyDeleteI am toast in the trifecta now...
Team Penske must have heard that Melissa tried to steal the lug at Sonoma for David and is getting them back big time. Now all we need is Stremme in the mix.
Kristen, I wouldn't put it past Stremme! (see Harvick, Kevin)
ReplyDeleteWha?? Carl loses a spot for a fakeout. Total crap by NASCAR!
ReplyDeleteKRIS,
ReplyDeleteLEAVE STREMME ALONG HE MIGHT GET THRU FOR THE FIRST TIME WITHOUT BEING IN OR CAUSEING A WRECK, THAT WILL BE A FIRST FOR PENSKE IN ITSELF
it's not being broadcast on any other channel but TSN2 here, Kristen :(
ReplyDeleteI've got trackpass loaded on nascar.com though, lol
Carl got jobbed.
ReplyDeleteThere's rain on turn 2. GRRRRR.
ReplyDeleteSorry Kristen but I like that rule. Carl said Matt speed up and he should have if you droped down that far off the race track.lol
ReplyDeleteYou really arent missing much Tez.
ReplyDeleteRain seems to be light enough to not affect race yet.
Dang go Kyle!
JPM has a flat...lose like a goose!
dang it, there goes my trifecta hopes, lol
ReplyDeleteKahne got into JPM and cut his tire
ReplyDeleteJoin the club Tez...
ReplyDeleteLike the rule or not, it would be helpful for the drivers/teams to actually know these rules!
Love that rule since it happened to Carl. Thanks Matt!
ReplyDeleteOooh it was your boy Kasey that cut Montoya's tire Tez...
ReplyDeleteAll four of my fantasy drivers this week are in the top 10.
ReplyDeleteSpeedy are all your trifecas on this site or any on your own one?? Thanks
ReplyDeleteRAIN!!! AGAIN!!! DANG IT!!!
ReplyDeleteCaution for rain
ReplyDeleterain again
ReplyDeleteLooks like a pop up shower that will quickly pass.
ReplyDeleteI must say I found it hard to actually cheer for Juan today...bad call by me to pick him in the end, lol
ReplyDeleteI got Mark and Jimmie on fantasy which looks great but Jr and Ryan got my nails chewed off.lol
ReplyDeleteTez, I picked him in my Gas and Go blog to win the race. Put it this way: I'm not picking him for Bristol!
ReplyDeleteI think I've got JJ and 3 Roush guys - Matty, Carl and Greg but I cnt remember now.
ReplyDeleteI've got Brian, Kyle, Matt, and Greg. All four are in the top 10 now
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong by picking a couple of Roush guys here!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Kurt is back on track...
ReplyDeleteF2- I post all the Trifectas on the Lug Nuts site. It's just easier that way. No one has to switch back and forth between here and there.
ReplyDeleteBetween Carl shooting himself in the foot yesterday and today, it looks like Katie didn't need a new voodoo duck(yes, the one in the avatar is no longer with us).
Jon , if they had been doing what they all ways do on this kind of track I say yes, but like I said on the trifecta is this the track they turn it around and it looks like they have.
ReplyDeleteDUMB QUESTION HERE: IF THE EDGE OF THE SPLITTER IS THAT SHARP WHY NOT MANDATE THAT THE EDGES BE HARD RUBBER COATED??
ReplyDeleteTez, looks like the Roushkateers are back, at least Kenseth, Biffle, and Edwards.
ReplyDeleteSpecial K topped off with fuel--looks like he's going to try to go the distance.
ReplyDeleteIt also appears that the RCR cars can go the distance.
ReplyDeleteThanks Speedy, I was going to research/count up the winner picks for everyone and see who is tops.. Many times we get ones who got 2 picks dead on and one pick drop them totally out. Unless you got it on papper and know it with a quick glance I will do it up.?.
ReplyDeleteLet me know. Thanks
Hey, Bev-
ReplyDeleteMy Dale Jr. pick in the Trifecta is looking pretty good right now :o) {Let me enjoy it for the moment. It won't last long.)
Junior IS leading, SBeagle!lol
ReplyDeleteI would give up my Trifecta win for Junior to win!LOL
ReplyDeleteGo Junebug! and the crowd goes crazy....
ReplyDeleteCaution out!! Stremme made contact with Burton and Bowyer and spun out. JPM gets the free pass.
ReplyDeleteWELL SO MUCH FOR STREMME NOT BEING INVOLVED IN A WRECK
ReplyDeleteLOL Team Penske is 3 for 3 today...not a good weekend in Michigan. Maybe Roger being there is making them nervous.
ReplyDeletehas Dale actually led a lap before this in 2009?
ReplyDeleteTez, he led at Talladega.
ReplyDeleteHarvick in 4th! *Doing the rain dance*
Oh Tez you silly boy! He led at Phx, Dega and Daytona this year.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope this stays green...
ReplyDeleteokey dokey then....maybe I spoke too soon; 35th to 22nd for Juan in 8 laps! :O
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Marcos? He is back there with Kurt...
ReplyDeleteGreen all the way, unlikely. JJ doesnt seem to have enough gas to make it.
Jr can make it all the way to the end. His last pit stop he took on four tires and fuel.
ReplyDeleteWe may see Jr win this race!
ReplyDeleteLook for Kurt to pull out of the race in 3 laps, he cant make up any more spots... =(
ReplyDeleteWe could see Jr win but dont count on it...us Jr fans know bad things usually happen! LOL
Looks like Harvick is saving fuel.
ReplyDeleteThe HMS drivers are going for broke.
ReplyDeleteYep, Kurt Busch is shown as out of the race.
ReplyDeleteHey Speedy,, look at the 88 go to the front.lol fingers are crossed for you and him.
ReplyDeleteNASCAR.com reporting that Dale Jr the only one in the top 8 NOT worried about fuel mileage.
ReplyDeleteJr just 2/10 of a second behind Martin
ReplyDeleteJr is flying....your crystal ball is being confiscated for the rest of the year, SB :P
ReplyDeleteand just ran the fastest lap on the track.
ReplyDeleteJeffie a lap short on fuel but going for win.
ReplyDeleteMarcos doesn't go that great on the 2 mile tracks....he got caught a lap down and hasn't been able to get it back yet, lol
ReplyDeleteJr still the fastest car on the track
ReplyDeleteGO JR. GO
ReplyDeleteHE HE HE HE HE
Top 4 conserving fuel.
ReplyDeleteGo Jr Go!! But I probably just jinxed him by admitting he has a shot!
ReplyDeleteNo way can they make 51 miles...
I mean 51 laps...if they do those engine tuners deserve a mint or they are cheatin!
ReplyDeleteHow much you wanna bet no debris cautions for once??
ReplyDeleteor we just found the Lug Nut!!!
ReplyDeleteFuel a serious concern for JJ, Vickers
ReplyDeleteAll I need him to do is finish ahead of Mark Martin.
ReplyDeleteGo Sam Go! Great run for our SYMT showcase driver....
ReplyDeleteChad looks nervous...
ReplyDeleteChad always looks nervous
ReplyDeleteJJ's out of fuel!
ReplyDeleteDang JJ outta fuel there goes my fantasy team!
ReplyDeleteOUT OF GAS! YES!
ReplyDeleteWhite flag!!
ReplyDeleteMy fantasy driver is about to win!
ReplyDeleteConrats Vickers!!! Great job...
ReplyDeleteAt least Junior finished 3rd.
ReplyDeleteAt least Junior finished!LOL
Woot Sam finished 5th!
ReplyDeleteYEA JUNIOR!!! Way to stay in the hunt...
Ok I gotta see if BART is going to strike or not, fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteHave a great rest of your weekend everyone!
Off to do my GBU blog. Later everyone!
ReplyDeleteMark must have ran out at the end too....gap between 12th and 13th is only about 40 points now :O
ReplyDeleteYea Tez he ran out and finished last car on lead lap. Going to be a good race into the Chase this year.
ReplyDeleteESPN coverage already cut off! LAME!
